Job description
# **Your Role** This role is responsible for making our IRL gatherings happen and capturing the story of them. You manage the production and logistics of everything from an intimate dinner to a live conversation series, and you turn those nights into content that shares Overtone’s mission with the world. New York comes first, but you'll build a playbook we can repeat city-by-city as we grow. This role reports to our Head of Communications. ## **What You'll Do** - Produce and manage IRL events for Overtone members end-to-end: everything from dinners, to panels and listening sessions, from liaising with venues to developing the run of show, managing guests and providing a seamless, premium experience. - Use every IRL event as a content opportunity, capturing what happens in the room and turning it into published content, with a focus on video-led social on Instagram and Tik Tok. - Coordinate and manage speakers, experts, and guests who join our events and feature in our content, and look after them throughout. - Keep the moving parts of events and content running, and support the wider team in efforts to build Overtone’s early community. - Work closely with the brand and comms team to develop creative ideas and build strategies that result in high quality events and content. - Partner with our Membership Manager to ensure all new members have a seamless, premium experience and feel supported as they try something new. ## **Who You Are** - 5+ years producing live events and content, or deep strength in one with range in the other. Organizing a dinner and a content shoot in the same week is not a challenge for you. - Hands-on production skills: you can shoot and edit short-form video yourself, or direct freelancers who do so. - Exceptional taste and a high bar for craft and quality. - Highly organized and able to keep logistics running smoothly across multiple projects at a time. - An established network in New York of venues, vendors and freelancers to draw on. - Comfort and experience in an early-stage startup environment. - A hands-on executor who can build a strategy but will also hit the pavement and knock on doors to make things happen. - Aligned to our core values of connection, simplicity, and intentionality. # **Compensation & Benefits** Salary of $120k to $150k. This position will receive meaningful stock options with considerable upside potential. We provide standard benefits such as health insurance, dental insurance, etc. # **Our Core Qualities** *We look for these qualities in everyone we hire at Overtone.* **Curiosity:** You seek to understand before you decide. You ask thoughtful questions, test assumptions, and stay open to changing your mind as new information emerges. **Craft:** You care deeply about quality and coherence. You simplify complexity, exercise good judgment, and take pride in work that feels intentional, thoughtful, and well-made. **Collaboration:** You engage with others honestly and generatively. You challenge ideas with respect, listen deeply, and help synthesize perspectives into clearer, better outcomes. **Care:** You take responsibility for people and outcomes. You act with integrity, follow through on commitments, and protect trust—with users, teammates, and the work itself. # **About Overtone** Overtone is a modern matchmaking company, from the creator of Hinge. We’re building a voice- and audio-forward service, enabled by AI, grounded in relationship science. There’s no profiles or swiping. We get to know people in their own voice, then make thoughtful introductions, one at a time, to people we think are worth meeting. The service is in beta-testing and not yet open to the public. We’re building a small team of people passionate about relationships and human connection, to work together in person in our NYC office (5 days a week in Flatiron).
