Job description
This student worker position serves as an Assistant in the University of the District of Columbia's Office of the President, which supports the President and Chief of Staff and their direct reports and staff. The position is under the administrative direction of the Chief of Staff and the daily supervision of the Director, Strategic Operations. Work is evaluated on responsiveness, timeliness of assigned duties, teamwork, customer satisfaction, punctuality, and overall work ethic. In the case of teleworking, student workers are expected to provide regular project updates to the Director, Strategic Operations, and provide draft or completed work products when requested. A high level of professionalism is expected, since this position often interacts with UDC’s senior leaders and their visitors, students, professors, and members the broader UDC community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as Receptionist for the Executive Suite, which is the first point of contact for internal and external students, faculty, and constituents. Duties include receiving and responding to telephone inquiries and referring walk-in inquiries to appropriate offices. Ensures a high level of customer service and positive image for the University including maintaining a professional and clean atmosphere in the lobby area of the Executive Suite. Assists with maintaining a log of all visitors to the Office of the President and Executive Suite. Interacts with Office of the President team members as it relates to visitor appointments. Receives packages and/or directs them to the proper office. Performs research on various topics as requested. Assists with document preparation, filing, copying and other administrative and clerical duties. Performs other related duties as assigned.
