Tom James Custom Clothing sales office in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a part-time Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor who excels in his or her trade and possesses a talent for delivering the finest tailored clothing with excellent attention to detail. Employees must be able to work quickly in a fast-paced office environment. Weekly hours for this position are 25. Compensation for this position is $27.00 per hour. **This is a fully on-site position, with attendance required.** ### Job Summary: Performs alterations as directed for our clients' high-end garments and delivers professionally finished garments on time. Demonstrates knowledge of fabric and standard tailoring concepts and procedures with quality workmanship for men's and women's garments. **Tailor Job Responsibilities and Duties:** To make adjustments to men’s and women’s suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers. Included, but not limited to: - Shorten/lengthen sleeves - Taper sides of garments - Lower collars - Take in/out trousers waist - Take in/out seat and rise on pants - Shorten/lengthen trousers - Taper trouser thighs and foot widths - Ensure proper sizing of clients - Manages all interactions with professionalism - Tracks detailed alteration production daily - Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, presses finished garment, removes threads, and completes for client-ready - Completes all work promptly to ensure customer delivery date - Maintains a clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments **Qualifications:** - Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment - Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong attention to detail - Self-starter - Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a strong organization of time **Working Conditions:** - Standing or sitting for long periods - Fast-paced environment - Adhere to all policies as outlined in the Office Support Manual and all Company practices and procedures **Benefits**include a generous PTO (Paid Time Off) policy and a 401(k) plan.
