Job description
Your responsibilities At Lund Consulting, you'll work alongside our senior consultants and managers to run technology projects for asset managers and insurers. These include data platform builds, regulatory reporting overhauls, and automation initiatives. Projects like these succeed or fail on two things: understanding what the business actually needs, and keeping delivery on track. You'll support both, as well as the numbers underneath them. You'll help plan and steer the project, capture requirements in workshops with client teams, build and maintain financial models, and reconcile data so that decisions rest on figures everyone trusts. What you will be doing Project Planning & Tracking: Help maintain project plans, milestones, and task boards, and track progress and effort against plan so project leads always have an accurate picture. Financial Modelling: Build and maintain financial models in Excel, such as business cases, cost and benefit projections, and forecasts, and keep them clear enough for managers and clients to follow. Reconciliation: Reconcile financial and operational data across sources and systems, investigate breaks, and document their root causes and how they were resolved. Status & Steering Reporting: Prepare status reports and steering-committee materials, maintain risk, issue, and dependency logs, and follow up on open actions. Requirements & Business Understanding: Join workshops with client business units, document requirements, process maps, and user stories, and help translate business needs into clear input for the technical team. Meeting & Stakeholder Coordination: Prepare agendas, write minutes, and coordinate follow-ups across client and project team members. Client Deliverables: Build storylines and slides for workshops and management presentations, and present your own work to client stakeholders. Team Collaboration: Work in a small project team with consultants, technical colleagues, and client counterparts, including daily stand-ups, internal reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Your profile Academic Background: You're studying Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Economics, or a related program. You've completed at least four semesters and show strong academic performance. Financial Skills: You have advanced Excel skills, including structured model building, lookups, and pivot tables. You understand accounting basics such as P&L, the balance sheet, and double-entry logic, and you have the attention to detail to track down why two numbers don't match. Organization & Ownership: You keep track of many moving parts, notice when something is slipping, and follow up without being asked. Structured Communication: You can turn a messy discussion into clear minutes, a crisp status update, or a well-structured slide. Business Understanding: You're curious about how organizations work and ask good questions to find out what stakeholders actually need. Interest in financial services, especially asset management or insurance, is a plus. Tools & Methods: You have strong PowerPoint skills and use AI tools confidently in your daily work. Familiarity with project management methods (agile/Scrum or classic) and tools like Jira, Linear, or MS Project is a plus. Prior Experience: An internship in audit, accounting, fund administration, consulting, or project management is a plus. Languages: You're fluent in English. German proficiency is highly advantageous. Availability: You're available for a 5-6-month, full-time internship in Munich (up to 20% remote), starting November 2026. Why us? What we offer Real Project Responsibility: From day one, you work on live client engagements alongside project leadership and see how projects are actually steered. A View Into the Technology: You work side by side with our data and technology team, so you learn how solutions are built, not just planned. Mentorship: You get a dedicated buddy for day-to-day questions and an experienced consultant as your counselor, with structured feedback at the midpoint and end of your internship. Learning & Development: You get onboarding training, access to our internal methodology and tooling library, and targeted upskilling in project management, financial modelling, financial-services domain knowledge, and AI. Career Path: Strong performers are considered for a follow-on working-student role, a thesis collaboration, or a full-time offer after graduation. Team Culture: Flat hierarchies, an open-door culture, and regular team events, office socials, and firm-wide networking formats. The essentials Location: In the heart of Schwabing, Munich Start Date: November 2026 Duration: 5-6 months, full-time
