Franco's- Sales Associate

Job description

About Franco's For more than half a century, Franco's Fine Clothier has been Richmond's destination for exceptional menswear, personalized service, and timeless style. As a family-owned business, we take pride in knowing our customers by name, understanding their lifestyle, and helping them build wardrobes that feel as good as they look. Our floor isn't just a sales environment. It's a place where relationships are built, craftsmanship is honored, and quality never goes out of fashion. About the Role We're seeking Sales Associates for our Short Pump and Lakeside locations who bring curiosity, confidence, and a genuine interest in personal style. This isn't "ring up the sale and move on" retail. It's a consultative experience that blends product knowledge, personal style guidance, and end-to-end ownership of the client journey, from first welcome to final fitting. Think of yourself as part stylist, part educator, part trusted advisor. What You'll Do Client Experience & Relationship Building Build long-term relationships with customers grounded in trust, consistency, and impeccable service. Ask thoughtful questions to understand each client's needs, lifestyle, and personal style. Offer honest, informed recommendations that elevate the customer's wardrobe while respecting their tastes. Help maintain the warm, boutique-like environment Franco's is known for. Sales Excellence Drive sales by delivering personalized, high-touch service, not pressure. Build and maintain a client book through thoughtful outreach, appointments, referrals, and follow-up after purchases. Work toward individual sales goals while contributing to the store's overall success and maintaining exceptional service. Stay informed and curious about brands, fabrics, fits, seasonal trends, and upcoming styles. Create curated looks, from casual to formal, and guide clients through outfit coordination. Use customer records and store systems to capture preferences, track commitments, and organize follow-up. End-to-End Process Ownership Manage the full customer journey: selection, fitting, tailoring coordination, and pickup or delivery follow-through. Coordinate closely with the tailoring team, ensuring accurate information, timely preparation, and a smooth process from fitting to final alterations. Support inventory awareness, stock presentation, and merchandising as needed. Team Collaboration & Culture Work alongside and learn from experienced clothiers while bringing your own perspective to the floor. Contribute to a culture of respect, camaraderie, and shared commitment to great service. Bring curiosity, humility, and professionalism. Learn from experienced colleagues, welcome feedback, and contribute ideas that improve service and how we work. You're a Great Fit If You... Have an interest in personal style and helping people look and feel their best, with a willingness to develop expertise in menswear, fit, fabrics, and wardrobe planning. Bring consultative sales or customer service experience, whether in retail or another setting. See retail as relationship-building, not transactions. Thrive in an environment where craftsmanship and detail matter. Are proactive, reliable, and comfortable owning the client experience from start to finish. Bring a warm, personable style with a touch of polish. Can work at one of the following store locations and operating schedules: Short Pump: Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 6pm, Sunday 12pm to 5pm Lakeside: Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm, closed Sunday Bonus Points For... Prior menswear experience, or familiarity with suits, shirts, sportswear, fabrics, and tailoring terms. Experience in retail sales, luxury goods, or other high-touch, customer-facing roles. Flexibility to work at both locations. Compensation This is a full-time position with a base salary of $23,400 per year plus 4% commission on sales. Why You'll Love Working Here Family-owned atmosphere with a rich legacy and loyal customer base. Hands-on learning from seasoned experts in menswear and tailoring. Customer relationships that last years. Opportunities to deepen your expertise and take on greater responsibility as your skills and performance grow. A company that values people as much as it values style. Health insurance with a generous employer contribution and employer HSA funding, plus dental, vision, employer-paid life insurance, and long-term disability. 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and, perhaps most notably, a generous employee clothing discount.
