Frontend xEngineer

Job description

As a Frontend xEngineer , you’ll design and own end-to-end user experiences that impact over 200 million users, working with an AI-native focus to craft high-quality, scalable, and resilient frontend products. In your day-to-day, you will: Design and own end-to-end systems and features that serve millions of users, taking responsibility across stack boundaries — from product flows and user experience to APIs, data models, and production systems Focus on frontend architecture, making thoughtful trade-offs around performance, scalability, accessibility, and long-term maintainability Apply AI-powered tools and workflows across planning, design, implementation, testing, debugging, and refactoring Work with modern technologies and platforms (e.g., TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, cloud, and CI/CD), continuously evolving your toolkit with AI-powered tools Lead architectural thinking by making thoughtful trade-offs around scalability, reliability, security, performance, and maintainability Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to shape solutions while ensuring production quality, observability, and long-term system health At Wix, we believe our best work happens together. Our work model is fully in person, with 5 days a week from our office. Flexibility remains a core value at Wix and special requests are handled thoughtfully at the team level. 5+ years of experience in frontend development, with a proven track record of working at scale and owning real production systems Expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and a mastery of TypeScript and modern build tools Experience using AI tools as part of your engineering workflow, with the ability to evaluate, validate, and iterate on AI-generated UI and logic Strong understanding of frontend fundamentals: performance optimization, accessibility (a11y), and testing Curiosity for how systems work end-to-end: from product behavior and UX to data flows and deployment pipelines A mindset that values product impact, technical excellence, and continuous learning in a fast-evolving AI-driven environment Ability to work independently, share knowledge, and adopt best practices in a highly collaborative team We are Wix’s Frontend Engineering group. We build unique, scalable, resilient products and technologies that empower anyone to succeed online. As AI-native xEngineers, our mission has evolved beyond the browser; we develop complex micro-frontends with end-to-end ownership, leveraging AI to accelerate implementation while focusing our expertise on architecture and system design. We embrace cutting-edge frontend technologies, maintaining the highest development standards. We work in small teams, follow agile methods, and use continuous delivery to ship features to millions of users. We love sharing knowledge and contributing back to the open-source community.
