Full-Stack Software Engineer (.NET/Angular)

Job description

**About ROLLER** ROLLER isn’t your average SaaS company. We operate globally across 30+ countries, powering millions of real-world experiences in the leisure and attractions industry. What we build doesn’t just live on a screen. It shows up in busy venues, peak weekends, and unforgettable moments for guests. Our mission is simple but ambitious: help operators run better businesses while creating great guest experiences. That means solving complex, real-world problems across ticketing, point of sale, self-service, memberships, kiosks, and digital waivers, all at meaningful scale. Just as importantly, it’s the people. We’re a team of 300+ smart, grounded, and genuinely passionate humans working across the globe. We care about quality, ownership, and doing work we’re proud of, without taking ourselves too seriously. We’re growing fast, aiming high, and building something that matters. If you want to work on real problems, with real customers, alongside people who care deeply about their craft and impact, ROLLER is a great place to do it. **The role** You'll join ROLLER's Product and Engineering team, working across the stack on capabilities at the heart of our platform. Depending on the team's priorities, that could include APIs, payments, integrations, reporting, point of sale, online checkout or the systems that help us operate reliably across different countries and regulatory environments. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who wants to own meaningful customer problems from discovery and design through delivery, production operation and iteration, backend and front end alike. You'll work closely with product managers and engineers on your team. You'll have room to form a view, challenge assumptions and make pragmatic technical decisions that balance delivery speed with security, reliability and long-term maintainability. Our backend runs on C#, .NET, T-SQL and AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SES and SQS. On the front end, we use Angular alongside our own design system and component library. **Why this work matters** 🚀 **Real scale and real consequences** ROLLER runs at real scale: thousands of requests per second across hundreds of containers, powering over 100 million guest experiences in 2025 alone. That scale is the norm here, and it's what makes the work matter, the software you build directly affects the people running the venue and the guests walking through the door. 🧩 **Real-world complexity** Our customers operate across different markets, regulations and operating models, so the problems here are rarely textbook: transactions, localisation, privacy, compliance and customer-facing workflows that need judgment, not just cleverness. 🧠 **Meaningful ownership** You won't simply pick up isolated tickets. You'll build context around a problem space, help shape the solution, ship it, and stay close to what happens after release. **What you'll do** - Design, build and maintain secure, scalable software across the stack, from backend services to the interfaces operators and guests use every day - Develop APIs and integrations across ROLLER's platform, and build user-facing features using our design system and component library - Take features from early discovery through technical design, implementation, release and iteration, working closely with product and engineering teammates - Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability, performance, observability and maintainability as the platform scales - Contribute to design discussions and code reviews, and help teammates improve without ego - Connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes **About you** You do not need to match every point. We are interested in engineers who demonstrate the underlying capabilities, even if their current stack is different from ours. You will likely bring: - Three to five years of professional software-engineering experience, although scope matters more than an exact number - Strong full stack experience, comfortable moving between backend services and the interfaces that sit on top of them - A track record of building and operating APIs, services or transactional product systems in a product, SaaS or similarly fast-moving environment - Sound engineering fundamentals across data modelling, testing, security, performance, cloud patterns and maintainability - Comfortable taking an ambiguous problem through to a practical outcome, and learning from production incidents or customer feedback along the way - Clear communication, curiosity and the confidence to give and receive honest feedback - A willingness to work from our South Melbourne office three days per week If your recent experience is in another modern backend language such as Java, Go, Kotlin or Python, we still want to hear from you if you have strong product-engineering fundamentals and are a quick learner. We believe AI is a career-defining inflection point. ROLLER is a fast adopter of new technology like AI, and every team member is empowered to own their learning and use the latest tools to supercharge their impact. We're looking for candidates with the proficiency and curiosity to embrace AI and technology, not just as a technical skill, but as a core competency to help us achieve big goals. **Why join ROLLER** Our strongest engineers combine high standards with low ego. You'll have autonomy, but you won't be on your own, we back each other, argue about the right call and raise the bar together. - Build a category-leading product used by venue operators around the world - Work face to face with experienced engineers in our South Melbourne office three days a week, solving hard problems and learning from each other - Take on broader problems as ROLLER scales, with progression based on impact and capability - 16 weeks of paid parental leave for primary carers and four weeks for secondary carers - Access our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), coaching and wellbeing resources - Enjoy free onsite parking and gym access - Join regular social, fundraising and team-led activities through our Vibe Tribe Go on, hit apply. Let's build great tech together. If you've got questions, don't be afraid to reach out to Reuben at [reuben.jamieson@rollerdigital.com](mailto:reuben.jamieson@rollerdigital.com).
