Fullstack Engineer (m/f/d)

Job description

ABOUT US METYCLE - where innovation meets sustainability We are building the B2B online platform to accelerate the global circular flow of secondary metals. By connecting buyers and sellers of scrap metal globally, we enable efficient trade of secondary metals and drive the seamless flow of recycling material, essential for reducing CO2 emissions by up to 95% compared to primary metal production. And we take it further! We are pioneering an innovative Smart Sorting Facility that leverages AI, machine learning, and robotics to transform how scrap metal is processed, enhance material quality, improve traceability, and drive the recycling industry into the digital era. Join us at the early stage in bringing the $610 billion scrap metal trading industry into the 21st century and in shaping the future of metal recycling and green energy solutions. READY TO MAKE AN IMPACT? We are hiring a seasoned full stack engineer to build modern, production-grade applications end to end. You bring deep experience across frontend and backend, designing, shipping, and running complex systems in production. Beyond your own code, you raise the bar for the whole team through mentorship, strong engineering practices, and a focus on quality and delivery. Join our international team and help shape innovative solutions for trading scrap metal and building a greener future. YOUR MISSION Deliver production features end to end across frontend and backend, owning the full cycle from requirements through architecture, implementation, testing, review, and deployment Maintain high standards for code quality, type safety, API design, performance, and application security Make pragmatic architectural decisions based on real-world experience, knowing when to build for scale and when to keep things simple Design and maintain engineering standards across the stack, including code review guidelines, testing strategies, architectural patterns, and documentation practices Define clear acceptance criteria and automated testing requirements to ensure quality before code reaches production, building these practices iteratively through real delivery Actively mentor and pair with teammates to transfer knowledge and strong engineering patterns - treating this as a core responsibility, not a nice-to-have Identify bottlenecks in the development workflow and remove them through better tooling, automation, and lightweight processes (e.g. pre-commit hooks, PR checks, and code health metrics embedded in the workflow) YOUR PROFILE Minimum 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience in production environments, with a track record of delivering complex full stack applications end to end Proven experience building production-grade frontend applications with modern frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular), including state management, testing, and performance optimization Strong backend expertise in at least one established ecosystem (e.g. TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Go, Java/Kotlin), plus solid understanding of API design (REST/GraphQL), databases, authentication/authorization, and application security Experience with modern build tooling, CI/CD pipelines, deployment practices, and core infrastructure/DevOps concepts - you understand how your applications run in production and contribute to operational excellence Strong opinions and practical experience in maintaining code quality, type safety, and architectural integrity as applications and teams scale, including the use of documentation, playbooks, and internal tooling that others actually rely on Comfortable collaborating and presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, energized by making the whole team more productive through mentoring, pairing, and improving engineering practices Genuine curiosity about and openness to AI-assisted development tools and workflows (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) - you see AI as a way to amplify strong engineering, not replace it WHY JOIN US? You will have the opportunity to challenge the status quo and work on an innovative venture with significant impact You will be able to take ownership and shape the future of metal recycling and green energy solutions at an early stage We offer a competitive salary including virtual company shares We offer an environment with flat hierarchies and a steep learning curve with exciting growth opportunities You will benefit from flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely or from a shared office location We promote an inclusive, diverse and supportive work environment CONTACT Discover more about METYCLE: About us | LinkedIn We look forward to receiving your application.
