Start Date 6th September 2027 Job Overview TfL's vision is to be a strong, green heartbeat for London, and we can't achieve that without great managers. Could you steer a team through challenging times, keeping everyone motivated and achieving their goals? Could you come up with new ideas to deliver outstanding customer service? Could you negotiate a compromise between stakeholders who want different things? Could you make your workplace more efficient, without compromising on safety or quality? You'll have a range of placements – some in the office and some in front-line operations – with plenty of opportunity to explore parts of TfL that interest you. You’ll experience a flavour of all our services such as; Night Tube, Early and late shifts Woolwich Ferry Victoria Coach Station Sustainability Sustainability is intrinsic to TfL’s work ethos, and we ensure that we operate in a sustainable way to protect and regenerate the natural world. Where can this career take me? When the scheme finishes, you'll be ready to start your career in management, and then on into leadership. The most effective leaders always understand how different parts of an organisation work together, and two years on this scheme will build those broad foundations you need. Perhaps you'll choose to specialise in front-line operations, where very few people can match the knowledge you picked up from placements in strategy or finance? Or vice-versa, perhaps you’ll start a career in our head office, and bring with you all the unique experience you gained during four months managing Oxford Circus station? This scheme is a great choice if you know you want a career in a place like TfL, but aren't sure yet exactly which field would suit you best. Where you’re encouraged and enabled and empowered to feel pride in the work you do. The clue is in the name, really. We work together for a better London. A better place for everyone. Constantly improving and enhancing how we operate to shape a city of the future. Inclusive recruitment process We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and aim to reflect the diverse communities we serve. We believe that a diverse workforce enables us to deliver better services and outcomes. Our goal is to make our recruitment as inclusive as possible. As a Disability Confident Leader, we actively encourage applications from disabled people. As part of the Disability Confident scheme, we aim to offer an assessment or interview to candidates who apply via the scheme where the minimum essential criteria for skills, knowledge and experience has been met. In some circumstances, it may not be practical to offer an interview or assessment to every candidate who applies through the scheme and meet the minimum essential criteria; in these situations, we select candidates who best meet the minimum criteria for the job rather than interviewing all who meet them. Across all recruitment activity, we recognise that selection methods may vary depending on the nature and scale of the campaign and will be applied fairly, consistently and proportionately in line with our Disability Confident commitments. In High Volume campaigns including Graduate, Apprentice and Intern recruitment the minimum criteria we set is achieving a pass mark in our first stage assessments, adopting a proportionate approach to the Disability Confident Offer an Interview scheme. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments for any stages of the application process. Important Information We expect all our graduate trainees to try some shift and weekend work, so they understand what life is like for thousands of our TfL colleagues, but we will always make reasonable adjustments to this for graduates who genuinely need them.
