  *GO Tutor Corps in partnership with AmeriCorps* **Location:** Bridgeport, CT **Schedule:** - Mon - Fri from 8 am - 4 pm - Mandatory in-person training November 16th & 17th, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm both days; *dates and times subject to change* - First day working in school building: November 18th, 2026 **Position Summary** As a GO Fellow, you will play a critical role in supporting students’ academic success by providing targeted, small-group instruction in Math. Fellows are embedded within school communities and contribute meaningfully to students’ daily learning experiences. We are seeking **dedicated and knowledgeable fellows** who are passionate about educational equity and eager to make a measurable difference in students' academic achievement. Ideal candidates are skilled at building relationships, adapting to different learning styles, and engaging students in-person through thoughtful, culturally responsive instruction. Fellows typically work with 3-4 students per session in a supportive environment, helping to drive gains in core academic areas while fostering student confidence and connection. This is a great opportunity for those looking to gain experience in education, mentorship, or youth development — especially recent graduates or those exploring a path in teaching. **Fellows must be able to fully commit to the schedule listed above.** Schedules will be finalized during training and will remain consistent throughout the year. **AmeriCorps Benefits** *You will earn:* - AmeriCorps living allowance *(see more about this below)* - AmeriCorps Segal Education Award upon successful completion of up to $5,176.50 - Loan postponement on qualified education loans - Valuable professional and personal experience in public education, youth development, civic-engagement, teamwork and leadership **AmeriCorps Living Allowance** The AmeriCorps Living Allowance and the number of pay cycles may vary depending on your assigned start date and location. Members who complete the Half-Year Time term (900 hours) receive a pre-tax living allowance of $14,500 for the full service year. The estimated pre-tax living allowance typically ranges from $800 to $900 in biweekly payments. Please note that the precise living allowance total and bi-weekly payment details will be clearly outlined in your offer letter and/or during the onboarding process. **Key Responsibilities** ***Academic Tutoring -*** *GO Fellows work with small groups of students to increase their achievement in Math and/or ELA. You’ll be matched with consistent groups of students to support throughout the semester. You’ll receive lesson materials in advance and will be responsible for dedicating time to prepare yourself for each lesson.* ***Mentoring & Enrichment*** - *GO Fellows serve as mentors to their students, supporting their social and emotional development by building authentic and healthy relationships and setting goals for the future.* **Qualifications** *You are qualified to apply if you meet the following requirements:* - Minimum of a high school diploma or GED - Citizenship or legal Permanent Residency status in the United States *(AmeriCorps requirement)* - Served no more than three previous AmeriCorps service terms *(AmeriCorps requirement)* *At least 18 years of age* **Competencies** *As a successful candidate, you possess the following qualifications:* - Passion for service and a growth mindset - Commitment to equity and diversity - Belief that all students can succeed - Confidence in your ability to lead students to significant academic growth in Math and/or ELA - Experience working in team settings- relationship building and communication skills - Maturity to work closely with professional peers - Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines - Ability to respond well to and implement feedback- commitment to lifelong learning - Collaborative problem-solving abilities - Prior experience working or volunteering with children is a plus - Able to travel to a GO partner school up to 5 days/week **GO Teacher Residency** The Teacher Residency is a pathway to teaching created for GO tutors. If you are successful as a tutor and interested in becoming a certified teacher, GO will help.
