JBS Scone is located just 2 hrs North-West of Newcastle in the Beautiful Upper Hunter – The horse Capital of Australia. The beef processing facility produces a wide range of high-quality grass fed and grain fed products for key domestic and international customers. We are renowned for our award winning PORTORO MB4+ brand! The Facility employs 420 employees, processes 680 head of cattle/day and operates 5 days/week. About the Role: JBS Scone has an opportunity for an experienced or trainee Halal Slaughter Person. It is essential that you are a practicing Muslim. This role would suit a person that is Hardworking, reliable, has positive work attitude and has a passion to deliver a high standard of quality product. It is a full-time position working 7.6 hours daily Monday to Friday with on-site training provided. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety and Quality procedures Ability to work within a team environment Good communications skills essential Demonstrated integrity and good presentation A professional work attitude The ability to work in a fast paced environment Superior attendance Performing general Slaughtering High focus & attention to detail About you: Experienced in Halal Slaughter/Sticking Accredited by recognised Islamic body (e.g. SICHMA) and AUS-MEAT Well-developed knife handling and technical skills, including knife sharpening Maintain high standards of animal welfare For a trainee, no experience is required Benefits for you include but are not limited to: Retail discounts with national partners Health insurance discounts on Bupa Health and Medibank Private Discounted staff meat purchases What next?
