We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards. The **Finance & Strategy Data Science team** is a specialized Data Science group within Robinhood’s Finance & Strategy organization. Our mission is to use data, advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to generate actionable insights, improve decision-making, and help Robinhood better understand and optimize business performance. We partner closely with teams across Robinhood including Finance, Product, Data, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Operations. Our work spans customer and business analytics, benchmarking, forecasting, measurement frameworks, and AI-powered analytics, helping leaders make faster, more informed decisions and identify opportunities to improve performance across the company. As the Head of AI and Data Science for Finance & Strategy, you will lead and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and analytics engineers, setting the team’s technical direction and priorities while partnering with leaders across Robinhood to turn complex business questions into actionable insights. You will oversee strategic analytics, measurement and benchmarking frameworks, deep-dive analyses, and scalable data science and AI solutions. You will play a key role in expanding how Finance & Strategy uses data and AI to enable faster, more predictive, and more effective decision-making.This role combines strong people leadership, technical depth, and business judgment to identify high-impact opportunities and elevate the quality and scalability of analytics across Robinhood. **This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected 5 days per week.** At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams. ## **What you’ll do** - Own Robinhood’s NPS program end to end: survey design, sampling and weighting methodology, fielding cadence, data quality, key driver analysis, and executive reporting - Own the broader survey and research portfolio, including safety perception research, brand and product sentiment studies, benchmarking and trend tracking, and ad hoc voice-of-customer work - Analyze open-text and responses at scale, including with LLM-assisted classification, while keeping methodology defensible - Partner with Product, Research, Operations, Marketing, and Brokerage leadership to close the loop from survey signal to product and policy change - Make agentic workflows the default operating model for the team. Design how analysis, pipeline development, QA, documentation, and recurring reporting get delegated to agents, and hold the team accountable to that standard - Build durable agent infrastructure rather than one-off prompts: reusable skills, context files, MCP tool integrations, evaluation harnesses, and guardrails that make agent output trustworthy enough for finance-grade and research-grade decisions - Lead both sides of the analytics stack: rigorous data science (measurement, experimentation, modeling) and the analytics engineering foundation (pipelines, tooling, data models) that agents and humans build on - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists and engineers; operate as a player-coach who stays hands-on in the terminal and in the code and ships real work alongside the team - Foster a culture of technical excellence, strong business judgment, methodological rigor, and clear accountability - Partner closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, Operations, and other key departments to translate complex business questions into scalable, trustworthy analytics - Represent Finance & Strategy Data Science in leadership forums and help shape how Robinhood leverages data and AI for strategic decision-making ## **What you bring** - 7+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields, including 2+ years of people management experience - Daily, hands-on fluency with Claude Code and modern AI coding tools, with a track record of building reusable agent infrastructure (skills, context files, tool integrations, evaluation harnesses) rather than one-off prompts - Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, statistical analysis, experimentation, and advanced analytics - Proven ability to translate complex business questions into rigorous analyses, actionable insights, and scalable data solutions - Experience developing measurement frameworks, predictive models, benchmarking, and other analytical approaches that inform business and strategic decisions - Strong business judgment with a track record of partnering with Finance, Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex analyses, influence decisions, and build alignment across teams - Experience building and developing high-performing teams of data scientists and analytics engineers ## **Leadership expectations** Our ambitious roadmap requires a great culture shaped by exceptional leaders. Here’s what we expect from them: - Drive high performance by setting clear, focused goals, giving real-time feedback, stretching top talent, and scaling impact through focus, innovation, and tech. - Hire and retain top talent by setting a high bar, hiring only those who raise it, investing in onboarding, and addressing talent issues quickly and fairly. - Create community by connecting work to purpose, removing friction while prioritizing safety, building trust and inclusion, and leading from the front with integrity. ## What we offer - Market competitive and pay equity-focused compensation structure - 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents - Annual lifestyle wallet for personal wellness, learning and development, and more! - Lifetime maximum benefit for family forming and fertility benefits - Dedicated mental health support for employees and eligible dependents - Generous time away including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more! - Lively office environment with catered meals, fully stocked kitchens, and geo-specific commuter benefits **In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.** Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.
