Job description

**This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Growth (Paid Media) based in Canada.** As Head of Growth (Paid Media), you will lead performance marketing strategies that drive profitable, sustainable growth for a portfolio of high-growth direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands. You will take ownership of large-scale paid media campaigns, with a particular focus on scaling Meta advertising while maintaining strong unit economics and profitability. Working at the intersection of performance marketing, creative strategy, analytics, and technology, you will identify growth opportunities and translate data into actionable decisions. You will lead and develop a team of paid media analysts and creative strategists while building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders. This role requires a hands-on growth leader who combines deep technical expertise with commercial judgment and decisive execution. You will operate in a fast-paced, fully remote environment where accountability, innovation, and measurable business impact are central to success. ### Accountabilities: - **Lead paid media growth strategy:** Own growth strategy and performance across a portfolio of DTC clients, developing scalable acquisition plans that balance revenue growth, customer acquisition costs, and profitability. - **Scale Meta advertising efficiently:** Manage aggressive campaign expansion, including scaling daily media spend to six figures when supported by performance data and unit economics. Identify the right moments to increase investment while protecting margins and long-term account health. - **Drive full-funnel performance marketing:** Develop and optimize paid media strategies across Meta, Google, and TikTok, ensuring campaigns are aligned with business objectives and customer acquisition goals. - **Diagnose and optimize performance:** Analyze campaign performance across creative, audience targeting, offers, landing pages, and checkout experiences. Identify the primary drivers of underperformance and prioritize the changes most likely to improve results. - **Lead creative strategy:** Partner with creative teams to develop high-performing concepts, improve creative testing velocity, address creative fatigue, and establish a systematic approach to identifying and scaling winning advertisements. - **Manage senior client relationships:** Serve as a strategic advisor to founders and senior stakeholders, presenting performance insights, defending data-driven decisions, communicating challenges transparently, and aligning short-term efficiency with long-term growth objectives. - **Build and develop high-performing teams:** Coach paid media analysts and creative strategists, strengthen their analytical and strategic capabilities, and empower them to become independent, accountable operators. - **Establish performance-driven decision-making:** Use rigorous analysis, experimentation, and commercial judgment to guide investment decisions, respond quickly to changing campaign dynamics, and deliver measurable business outcomes. ### Requirements: - **Extensive paid media experience:** Bring 6–10 years of experience in digital advertising, including substantial hands-on responsibility for managing large Meta advertising budgets for DTC e-commerce brands. - **Proven scaling expertise:** Demonstrate a track record of scaling Meta advertising accounts beyond $100,000 in daily spend. Be able to explain the strategies used, the challenges encountered, and how performance issues were resolved. - **Deep technical knowledge of Meta advertising:** Understand the mechanics of Meta's advertising algorithm, including creative fatigue, cost-control settings, audience saturation, CPM fluctuations, campaign architecture, and the factors that influence efficient budget scaling. - **Multichannel performance marketing expertise:** Have practical experience managing paid campaigns across platforms such as Meta, Google, and TikTok, with a strong understanding of full-funnel acquisition and conversion optimization. - **Strong analytical and commercial judgment:** Be comfortable interpreting complex performance data, identifying meaningful trends, and making timely decisions without overanalyzing. Understand the relationship between advertising efficiency, customer acquisition costs, revenue, and profitability. - **Creative and strategic thinking:** Know how to translate performance insights into effective creative strategies and identify promising advertising concepts before results are available. - **Leadership and team development:** Have the ability to mentor analysts and strategists, establish high standards, and foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and accountability. - **Client management and communication:** Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders, navigate difficult conversations, challenge assumptions, and explain strategic decisions clearly. - **Adaptability and ownership:** Thrive in a fast-paced environment, take responsibility for performance outcomes, and balance ambitious growth targets with disciplined execution. - **Remote collaboration:** Be comfortable working independently and collaborating with distributed teams in a results-oriented environment. ### Benefits: - **Competitive total compensation:** Annual total compensation ranging from USD 150,000 to USD 300,000, including base salary, performance bonus, and equity. - **Fully remote work:** Work remotely with the flexibility to perform at your best from your preferred location. - **Flexible working environment:** Benefit from a distributed team structure built around trust, autonomy, and high performance. - **Performance-based rewards:** Opportunity to earn additional compensation through performance bonuses and equity participation. - **Leadership opportunities:** Lead a team of paid media and creative professionals while shaping growth strategies for an established portfolio of high-growth DTC brands. - **Strategic business impact:** Influence significant advertising investments and help brands achieve profitable, measurable, and sustainable growth. - **Innovation-driven environment:** Work at the intersection of performance marketing, creative strategy, analytics, and technology, with opportunities to refine sophisticated growth systems. - **Professional development:** Strengthen your leadership, strategic decision-making, and technical expertise while working on complex, high-scale advertising challenges.
