Title: House Manager with Meal Prep Support Location: Menlo Park, CA 94025 Employment Type: Part-time (15–20 hours/week, 3 days preferred) Proposed Start Date: Early November (flexible; can start sooner) Compensation: $35–$40/hour based on experience Employment Type: 1099 Contractor Requirements: Can maintain a smoke-free environment, pass background check, has reliable transportation, comfortable with pets (small dog and cat), must love cooking About Us We are a professional couple based in Menlo Park with a friendly one-year-old mini Bernedoodle and a beautiful cat. Both of us work full-time, one in a hybrid office schedule, the other primarily from home. We are seeking a proactive, trustworthy, and detail-oriented House Manager to help keep our home running smoothly. We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys creating order, loves to cook, and finds satisfaction in supporting a busy household with calm, consistent care. You’re also a strong cook—comfortable preparing paleo-inspired, gluten-free, and dairy-free meals , and able to plan, shop for, and prepare 2–3 healthy dinners each week with extra portions for later. You’re the kind of person who notices when supplies are low, enjoys managing household logistics, and communicates clearly when something needs attention. You appreciate a tidy, well-run home and take pride in bringing structure and ease to others’ lives. Key Responsibilities Household Management Maintain an organized and well-functioning home environment Tidy and reset rooms daily (not full cleaning — weekly cleaning service remains in place) Oversee organization of closets, drawers, pantry, and storage areas Manage household inventory and restock supplies (pantry staples, toiletries, cleaning products) Coordinate with home vendors and service providers as needed Handle errands such as returns, post office runs, and deliveries Manage and maintain family vehicle (e.g., schedule washes and servicing) Support with travel planning, scheduling, and household logistics Meal Planning & Prep Plan, shop for, and prepare 2–3 simple, healthy meals per week Focus on paleo-style cooking (meat, fish, fruits, vegetables) for one adult and a mixed approach for the other Confident cooking gluten- and dairy-free dishes Grocery shopping and kitchen restocking Maintain clean, organized kitchen and appliances Collaborate to create a rotating menu of favorite recipes Laundry & Linens Wash, fold, and put away laundry (including bedding and towels) Steam or iron clothing as needed Rotate and refresh linens regularly Pet Care Light support for Maui (dog) and Iris (cat) Dog walks or daycare drop-offs 2–3 times per week Keep pet food and supplies stocked and organized Occasional pet check-ins while family travels Projects & Events Prep home for holidays, guests, or gatherings Assist with packing/unpacking and trip preparation House sitting or oversight while family travels Ideal Traits Highly organized and self-motivated with excellent attention to detail Calm, kind, and dependable with a strong sense of initiative Skilled at planning, scheduling, and communication Enjoys cooking and familiar with dietary preferences and restrictions Tech-savvy and comfortable managing digital lists and household systems Flexible and professional with a positive, can-do attitude How to Apply If this sounds like a great fit for you, please email with: A short note explaining why this role interests you Your updated resume At least three professional references (with contact information)
