Job description
**ABOUT** [****](http://OVERVIEW.AI)[](http://Overview.ai) is bringing the cutting edge of AI computer vision to manufacturing, solving inspection problems that were previously not solvable with traditional machine vision. We’re a full-stack company: we deploy GPU-powered cameras on production lines, run inference on the edge, and operate a platform that supports large fleets of devices deployed across the world.
We’re growing extremely fast. Our customers love the product because it works: high accuracy, fast deployment, and an operator-friendly experience that makes real factory rollouts possible, not just pilots.
**THE OPPORTUNITY**Our Shanghai office in Putuo is a core operational hub. Hardware is received, tested, kitted, and shipped from here to customers across Asia. As we build out our China entities and grow the team across Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, we need a hands-on owner of the HR and admin foundation, from entity setup to daily operations. This is a single-seat role with real authority over how Overview runs in China. You will report initially into our Head of Global Recruiting and then after a few months, our Global HR Operations & Compliance Lead.
**WHY THIS ROLE IS EXCITING**
- **Build, not maintain:** You set up the entities, policies, and processes a growing China operation runs on.
- **Breadth:** Cross-office scope across three locations, spanning HR, global mobility, facilities, and workspace projects.
- **Global exposure:** You work daily with international colleagues across a company deploying in factories worldwide.
- **Ownership:** You are the go-to person for how the China offices run.
**WHAT YOU’LL OWN**
- **Entity setup:** Own HR setup for new China entities, including registration support, employment structure, and local compliance.
- **Onboarding and global mobility:** Employment documents, onboarding and orientation, work permits, visas, relocation, and cross-office transfers.
- **Employee records:** Personnel files, contracts, attendance, and leave records, kept accurate and current.
- **Payroll coordination:** Compile and verify attendance, overtime, and leave data for timely, accurate salary processing.
- **HR policy:** Implement, communicate, and update policies, procedures, and employee guidelines.
- **Employee relations and engagement:** First point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns; organize team-building.
- **Office, facilities, and workspace:** Maintenance, equipment, assets, and admin expenses across Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, plus office relocation and renovation projects.
- **Travel and business tools:** Administer Ctrip Business and Didi Business, including access, usage monitoring, vendor coordination, and cost tracking.
**WHO YOU ARE**
Required
- 5+ years in HR and office administration.
- Strong working knowledge of China labor law and regulations.
- Has owned China entity setup and HR onboarding for US-based or international companies.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional English, written and verbal, for daily work with international colleagues and external partners.
- Runs multiple priorities independently with strong organization and attention to detail.
- Handles confidential information with discretion; proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong Preferences
- Familiarity with labor law across Southeast Asia.
**WHY** [****](http://OVERVIEW.AI)
- **Extreme growth and real-world impact:** We’re not building demos. We’re deploying AI systems on real production lines, at scale.
- **Talent density:** You’ll work with world-class engineers and operators across AI, embedded systems, and enterprise deployment.
- **Front-row seat to the AI manufacturing wave:** One of the biggest transformations happening in industry right now.
- **Ownership:** Your work directly changes the trajectory of the company.
- **Global exposure:** You’ll work with the most advanced customers and factories in the world.
