HSC Physics Tutors

Job description

Who We Are At Contour, we’re reshaping education, one student at a time. Born from the frustration of students who knew the system could be better, we set out to build what we once wished existed: tutoring that actually works. Not generic classes. Not recycled notes. Not overpriced, overcrowded rooms with an out-of-touch teacher who couldn’t relate. But a complete ecosystem of tutoring, resources, and support, meticulously designed to help every student reach their full potential. Since 2020, over 15,000+ students have trusted Contour to guide their academic journey, and we’ve grown to over 500+ team members. We’ve produced hundreds of 99+ ATARs, tutored the World-Record UCAT scorer, and placed more students into medical school than any school in Australia. Our growth is a testament to the simple philosophy: Put the student first, always. Everything we design, from our world-class tutor-training programs to our purpose-built campuses, exists to help students master content faster, perform with confidence, and even rekindle the joy of learning. Contour is a group of three brands united by one goal: to give every student the best chance to achieve their full potential: Contour Education: Reshaping how students master their high school subjects with small-group tutoring, structured resources, and 1-on-1 support across Maths, Science, and English. Contour MedPrep: Reshaping medical preparation with a proven, step-by-step pathway through the UCAT, interviews, and admissions, led by a team of 100+ medical students. Contour TestPrep: Reshaping test preparation, starting with the selective entry exam, through rigorous tutoring, mock exams, and data-driven feedback to give students a decisive advantage. This is Contour. Built by students, for students. What You Will Do Teach: Run a 2-hour small-group class each week in a U-shaped room built for discussion, plus a weekly workshop, teaching Physics through Contour’s intuitive in-class materials. Engage: Lead classes full of discussion, exploration, diagrams, and videos, keeping every student involved rather than lectured at. Mentor: Be the teacher, mentor, coach, and friend your students need: someone they can ask anything, look up to, and be inspired by. Support: Work the room, catch misconceptions early, and give students the individual help they need to walk out confident. Prepare Them to Perform: Get your students ready for the internal assessments, Trials, and HSC exams that decide their results, sharing the strategies that worked for you. What You Will Bring 98+ ATAR with a Band 6 in HSC Physics. A love of teaching and the patience to explain a concept three different ways until it clicks. The energy to run a room: warm, confident, and engaging in front of a class. Care for students as people: you want to be a mentor they trust, beyond the marks. Reliability and professionalism: your students and their parents count on you every week. Alignment with Contour’s student-first mission and a passion for reshaping education. Why You Will Love It The Best Class Experience: Every resource is built for you. No booklet creation, no admin. You walk in, teach, and connect. Growth Pathways: Move into curriculum, leadership, or subject advisory roles as NSW scales. Many of our leaders started as tutors. Contour was built by students, for students: giving students the exact thing they need to achieve their full potential. As we launch in New South Wales, we are hiring founding HSC Physics Tutors to deliver that promise in the classroom. As a Contour tutor, you play four roles at once: teacher, mentor, coach, and friend. You teach highly engaging classes full of discussion, exploration, fun diagrams, and videos, to students who actually want to be there. You build real connections with your students, share your insight, and become someone they look up to and are inspired by. You teach through the most intuitive in-class material, all built for you. This role does not require any booklet creation or admin tasks; your role is the best class experience possible, for your students and for you.
