Job description

Summary Evaluates and maintains heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems at City facilities using a safe, documented, and responsive approach. Performs on-call services (24/7) on a rotating basis with other Facility Maintenance Staff. Rate of pay is contingent upon current license, certifications, and work experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Installs new HVAC systems (including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment) • Performs routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, and replacing filters, coils, and other components • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, procures parts, and repairs malfunctioning HVAC and refrigeration equipment • Conducts thorough inspections of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards • Documents work performed in the work order management system to include time, service performed, parts used, repairs or installations made, and any observation of future repairs needed • Maintains an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and parts, ensures tools are clean and in good working condition • Maintains a clean work area, storage areas, and assigned vehicle • Coordinates scheduling with outside contractors and works with other employees to meet City need • Assist with non-HVAC/refrigeration work orders on an as-needed basis • Follows local and national codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for HVAC and refrigeration equipment installation and maintenance • Follows city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent • Five (5) years of experience in maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipment Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Chillers and Boilers Certificates, Licenses, Registrations • TDLR Certified/Contractor License • EPA 608 Universal Certification for handling refrigerants • Valid Driver’s License • Ice machine certification (preferred) Thank you for your interest in the position.
