We are currently recruiting for a Hygiene Operative(Nights) to join our New World Foods site (part of Kepak Group) in York.The Hygiene Operative is responsible for maintaining the highest hygiene and cleanliness standards across all production areas. The role ensures that equipment, machinery and the working environment are effectively cleaned, sanitised and prepared to enable safe, compliant food production. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain high hygiene standards across production areas
- Clean production equipment and machinery
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning
- Complete scheduled cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Carry out deep cleaning activities
- Follow hygiene, GMP and food safety procedures
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
- Wear and comply with PPE requirements
- Conduct quality checks to ensure cleaning standards are met
- Maintain clean, organised and safe work areas
- Report hygiene, safety or maintenance issues promptly
- Support continuous improvement of hygiene standard
Requirements
- Experience in a food manufacturing or similar hygiene‑critical environment.
