Job description
**Role Objective** The associate is responsible for data quality and support operations of aerial data. The Imagery Ingestion and Processing Specialist is responsible for the assessment, pre-processing, pipeline ushering, post-processing, and modification of both first and third party, 2D and 3D aerial/satellite/drone imageries and derivative products (DSM/DTM, Orthophotos, Mosaics, 3D city models, synthetic obliques, and synthetic nadir). ### Role & Responsibilities - Processing and analyzing global-scale raster datasets. - Monitor daily production and quality of data sets. - Interpret data to recognize trends and potential problem areas. - Collaborate with cross-functional groups to ensure data flows through the pipeline to production. - Plan and execute daily operations to ensure project goals are met. - Interface with engineering teams to continually improve and automate overall operations processes and technical knowledge. - Maintain process documentation and recommend improvements via feature requests to engineering teams. - Identify drivers of latency and quality issues and develop solutions to mitigate with stakeholders. - Prioritize data sets as necessary to meet SLA/SLO for critical regions. - Monitor bug queues and address issues with appropriate fixes. ### Education & Experience / Skills - 1-2 years’ experience in the Geospatial industry. - High school graduate or Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in GIS/Geospatial/Remote Sensing. - Hands-on experience/working knowledge of one or more GIS software like ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS, or equivalent and/or expertise in 3D modeling packages like SketchUp, Maya, 3D Max, Blender, Photoshop, AutoCAD, or open-source image editing software like GIMP. - Experience working with scripting languages (shell, Python, Perl, JavaScript). - Experience with SQL, with a focus on dashboarding. - Experience creating and styling thematic maps. - Exposure to photogrammetry technology and software. - Technological savviness for geospatial products and services. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to operate and communicate effectively at all levels of the business. - Comfortable with a rapidly changing environment. - Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. - Able to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude with a passion for learning and creative problem-solving.
