The Kitimat Community Development Centre is a CARF accredited, non-profit organization that serves Kitimat and KitamaatVillage. Inclusive Childcare Worker in Beautiful Northern BC Our agency is expanding, and we are hiring for an Inclusive Child Care Consultant (formerly Supported Child Development Consultant) and Inclusive Child Care Workers (formerly Supported Child Development Worker) positions. We are looking for Inclusive Child Care Workers (ICCW) to join our multi-disciplinary team to work with children birth – 19 years of age. The ICCW would use family-centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approaches to provide support, intervention, and monitoring. The position is permanent and can be either full-time or part-time We can offer you: • Flexibility and promote work/life balance • A positive and supportive work environment • Personal health days • Extended health benefits • Matching RRSP contributions • Generous professional development budget • Mentorship • Small-town friendliness and easy access to outdoor activities (see below) Qualifications: • Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification or an Early Childhood Education Assistant certification (ECEA) • Responsible Adult certification • Degree or diploma in ECE or related field • One-to-three-years work experience in inclusive child care settings • CCLR approved First aid certificate Additional Requirements: • Available Monday to Friday, and be able to work flexible hours as needed • A criminal record check clearance letter Responsibilities: • Support the inclusion of one or more children in a child care program implementing strategies outlined in the child’s support/care plan. • Adherence to child care centre policies and regulations. • Maintaining child records, including observation notes and monthly progress reports • Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing. • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
