This is a 1099 independent contractor position, ideal for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and delivering exceptional quality. **Compensation:** - Compensation will be based on experience and volume of work - Paid per garment or agreed-upon rate structure ### Responsibilities, Requirements, and Qualifications: **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform high-quality alterations on custom garments, including suits, jackets, trousers, and shirts - Execute precise fittings and adjustments to ensure optimal garment fit and client satisfaction - Work independently to manage alteration requests in a timely and efficient manner - Maintain consistent quality standards and attention to detail across all garments - Communicate effectively regarding timelines, garment needs, and any alteration considerations **Requirements:** - **Must own and maintain all necessary sewing and tailoring equipment** - Proven experience in alterations and tailoring, specifically with custom or high-end garments - Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently - Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship - Reliable, professional, and responsive communication skills - Provide references - Show examples of work **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience working with luxury or made-to-measure clothing - Ability to handle complex alterations and specialty fabrics - Flexible availability to meet business needs - Demonstrate the ability to ask clarifying questions when instructions or expectations are unclear - Proactively communicate when a requested alteration cannot reasonably be completed due to insufficient fabric/materials time constraints, cost-effectiveness, or other limitations
