Internship 6 Months -System Modeling (MBSE) for Metro Automation Design (F/M)

Job description

Req ID : 531538 At Alstom, we build what millions of people depend on every day: rail transportation systems that cannot afford to fail. We are more than 85,000 colleagues worldwide, creating the industry's broadest portfolio of high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services, and integrated systems. More Than a Job: A Mission We are looking for a passionate intern eager to contribute to the development of next-generation metro automation systems through Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). You will join teams involved in the modernization of urban transportation systems and contribute to the development of an embedded Automatic Train Operation (ATO) solution for metro applications. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will help model, analyze, and validate system behaviors that support safer, more efficient, and more reliable railway operations. Your Role, Your Impact Analyze and understand the technical requirements associated with the embedded automatic pilot system and its operational environment. Participate in the modeling of system functions and behaviors using engineering tools such as Simulink and SysML. Perform simulations and evaluate system models to assess performance, identify optimization opportunities, and validate technical assumptions. Collaborate closely with system architects, developers, and engineering teams to ensure consistency between requirements, models, and implemented solutions. Contribute to the production of technical documentation and support the continuous improvement of model-based engineering practices. You'll work with skilled and committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility, ensuring seamless integration between system engineering, automation technologies, and operational needs. What You Bring Currently pursuing a degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Embedded Systems, or a related field. Knowledge of system modeling, simulation techniques, and engineering methodologies. Familiarity with tools and approaches related to MBSE, SysML, Simulink, or equivalent environments. Ability to analyze complex systems and translate technical requirements into structured models. Strong analytical mindset, curiosity, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. An interest in railway systems, automation, control systems, or embedded software development would be a strong asset. How Success Is Measured Timely delivery of accurate and validated system models aligned with project objectives. Quality of simulations, analyses, and technical documentation produced during the internship. Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Contribution to improving the understanding, performance, and robustness of the automatic pilot solution. Ability to identify optimization opportunities and propose relevant technical recommendations. Alstom, A Great Place to Grow Work on innovative metro automation technologies contributing to the modernization of urban transportation systems. Develop hands-on experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering, simulation, and railway system design. Collaborate with experienced engineers and experts in systems engineering and automation. Gain exposure to real-world industrial projects with direct operational impact. Benefit from mentorship, technical guidance, and continuous learning opportunities throughout your internship. Duration: 6 months Star date : February 2027 You do not need to be passionate about the railway industry to thrive with us. We guarantee that, when you travel on one of our trains with your family or friends, you will be proud to have contributed to it. As an international company, we ensure equal opportunities and value diversity across each of the 63 countries in which we operate. We are committed to providing an inclusive work environment where everyone can thrive, be respected, and fully develop their potential.
