The Natural Resources & Energy Transition (‘NET’) team provides strategic and event driven advisory and capital raising services to public and private companies, investors, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds across mining, upstream oil & gas, downstream energy, commodity linked infrastructure and mining services sectors. The Australian NET team has been at the forefront of activity in the sector, advising on some of the largest and high profile M&A, ECM ad DCM transactions, with marque deals including South32’s sale of its Aluminium Value Chain assets to Alcoa, EMR & Adaro’s sale of Kestrel to Yancoal, Newmont’s acquisition of Newcrest, EG’s sale of its Australian business to Ampol, South32’s divestment of its Illawarra Metallurgical Coal business, Greatland Gold’s ASX IPO, Alumina on its takeover by Alcoa, and Whitehaven on its acquisition of Blackwater & Daunia from the BHP-Mitsubishi Alliance. We require an Associate to join our market leading NET team in Australia as it continues to grow. Job Description Ability to operate as project / deal team lead, driving the work product and transaction processes Participate in the execution of equity and debt financing and M&A transactions Perform in-depth financial, valuation, product and industry analysis, and due diligence Prepare pitch books, client presentations and live deal materials Build financial models Attend client meetings Help to generate ideas and opportunities for new and existing clients Train and mentor junior bankers (Analysts) as they develop core investment banking skill sets Learn from, and work with, teams consisting of professionals drawn from across the business, including senior bankers within your group, experts in other areas of the firm and colleagues from around the globe Requirements Investment Banking experience ideally within Natural Resources, Energy, Infrastructure or Industrials Outstanding academic achievement Strong financial analysis / financial modeling skills Detailed oriented with strong quantitative and analytical skills A bachelor's degree plus 3+ years of investment banking, corporate finance, M&A, modelling/valuation or consulting experience Effective verbal and written communication skills Disclaimer: Apart from Bank of America, National Association, Australian Branch, none of Bank of America’s legal entities are Authorized Deposit-taking Institutions authorized under the Banking Act 1959 of Australia nor regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority
