Job description
AMT, Inc. is seeking a mid-level IT Infrastructure & Security Administrator to serve as the primary backup and operational partner to our Infrastructure & Security Lead. This person will own day-to-day infrastructure operations, support our CMMC compliance journey, and bring working knowledge of AI tools, scripting, and modern server environments. This is a high-visibility role with a direct path toward senior leadership as the firm continues to grow. Position can be based out of any of our offices in the DMV (Maryland, DC, VA). Why This Role?: - Direct mentorship from an experienced IT director with 20+ years at the firm - Opportunity to grow into a senior or lead infrastructure role as the team expands - Involvement in firm-wide strategic technology initiatives including AI, CMMC, and ERP - Competitive compensation, ESOP participation, MIP bonus program, and full benefits - Hybrid schedule with a collaborative, people-first team culture ### Responsibilities - Manage and monitor servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure across multiple office locations - Serve as primary backup for all infrastructure and security functions, including on-call coverage during evenings and weekends on a rotating basis - Support and help advance CMMC Level 1 and Level 2 compliance efforts, including documentation, policy enforcement, and staff training - Assist in managing Microsoft 365 environment including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Entra ID - Maintain and improve cybersecurity posture — endpoint protection, SIEM monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response - Support the buildout and management of a formal after-hours helpdesk rotation system - Contribute to AI tool evaluation, deployment, and internal training initiatives - Support office infrastructure needs across outlying locations including occasional travel ### Qualifications - 5-8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or security engineering - Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and cloud environments (Azure preferred) - Scripting or programming ability (PowerShell, Python) - Working knowledge of network administration — firewalls, switching, VPN, DNS/DHCP - Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks — NIST, CMMC, or similar - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure - Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical issues to non-technical staff - ## Preferred - Experience with CMMC compliance implementation - Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application in a business environment - Experience with CrowdStrike or similar enterprise backup/security tools - Relevant certifications: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft certifications, CISSP, or equivalent
