IT Manager

Job description

When systems stall… you get them moving again. Scanners stop scanning. Printers refuse to print. Networks wobble. And then, you step in. You’re hands-on and in the action, fixing issues before they slow the operation down. You keep devices connected, systems running, and the warehouse moving at full speed. At MyRunway, IT support isn’t desk-bound. It’s practical, fast, and impact-driven. This is a standalone IT Manager role with no direct reports, working closely with external IT vendors for escalations and specialised support when required. If you love real-time problem-solving and thrive in a fast-paced operational environment, this one’s for you. What’s in it for you A hands-on role at one of SA’s fastest-growing fashion e-commerce brands The chance to make a real, visible impact on daily warehouse operations A fast-paced, practical environment where no two days look the same A supportive team with room to grow and learn A role where you’re trusted to take ownership and get things done Responsibilities Be the go-to IT support on the warehouse floor—fast, visible, and hands-on Fix hardware, software, and network issues before they cause delays Keep warehouse-critical tech running: WMS, scanners, printers, and label machines Set up and manage PCs, laptops, handhelds, and mobile devices Own asset tracking and keep everything accurately logged Manage user access, passwords, and basic security controls Log, track, and close support tickets within SLA targets Escalate tricky issues to vendors when needed Run routine system checks, updates, and backups Support system rollouts, upgrades, and on-the-floor training Keep downtime low and efficiency high Personal Skills and Attributes Confidence supporting scanners, printers, and mobile hardware Comfort working in a warehouse or operational environment A natural problem-solver with a calm, practical mindset Clear communication and a strong service focus The ability to prioritise and work independently in a fast-paced setting Experience Hands-on experience in an IT support or helpdesk role Solid Windows OS knowledge and a good grasp of basic networking Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) A relevant IT qualification or certification The Hard Truth: Not For Everyone High-Stakes Visibility: When a system fails, you are the most watched person in the building. You must be able to work with a cool head while everyone is looking to you for an immediate fix. The Action Factor: You won't be sitting at a desk all day. You will be on the move, on the floor, and under desks. It is a physically active role that requires you to be where the problems are. Firefighting is the Job: Some days are pure chaos. Technology breaks at the most inconvenient times, and you have to prioritize business survival over your own to-do list. If you’re reliable, proactive, and genuinely enjoy keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes. We would love to hear from you. MyRunway is committed to transformation and redressing of past inequalities. Our employment equity goals will be taken into account in our selection process.
