Do you want to see seniors, people with disabilities and those on low income be able to access the food they need but cannot afford? Would you like to help people be able to receive the care and support they need? If so, come and join our team! Volunteering with us will not only bring hope to others, but it will also bring you the blessing of being part of a team where you will feel valued and know that you are making a difference in the lives of others. What are we doing that you could be involved in? Our Food Market is a fairly new innovative operation that provides free fruit, veg, bread, and meat as well as cheap groceries to our community in need. All customers are welcomed and receive a free cappuccino from our Coffee Van whilst they wait. What would you be doing? There are several exciting opportunities depending on whether you would like to assist with the sorting and display of the food we receive, unloading the deliveries we receive from Oz Harvest & Foodbank, assisting customers as they choose their food, serving customers purchasing cheap groceries, or make the cappuccinos! The reward? Every step of the way you will be part of a team where you will be supported and feel that what you are doing makes a difference to others. Why do we do this? We believe every person is loved by God and everything we do is to bring people this love and hope. Together we can support those most affected by the cost-of-living crisis. Development opportunities with this role: This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in retail practices, valuations of donations, sorting and stocking of shelves, as well as experience in working as a part of a team. Volunteers will receive on the job training and support, working alongside experience retail professionals in a caring and supportive environment. As an extra bonus, volunteers have access to professional development training.
