Junior Graphic Designer

Job description

**At Murj, we do what we love and love what we do!** Murj was founded in 2014 to solve a problem witnessed first-hand. Founder and CEO, Todd, worked with cardiology practices as an implantable cardiac device sales representative for Medtronic. He watched clinicians struggle to manage these sophisticated devices using outdated and inadequate tools. Having previously worked in product management at Apple, Todd knew that brilliant design can profoundly impact the user experience -- so why not design a better way to care for patients with implantable devices? In Murj, Todd created an enterprise SaaS cardiac device management software solutions company that reimagines and transforms patient care through thoughtful design and a passion for quality and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Today, Murj continues this transformative innovation with intuitive, elegant, and imaginative technology solutions that improve the lives of cardiac care professionals and their patients. **What Murj offers.** Murj is for people seeking a fast-paced, ever-changing environment surrounded by a supportive team that works hard and strives for innovation and professionalism, with a steady diet of humility and camaraderie. Every employee is treated like family, with love, respect, and responsibility. The individual and collective success of every employee is at the forefront of what we do and believe. And in joining Murj, you are joining a community that believes in evolution and promotion from within; there is a high degree of opportunity for progression, creativity, and ownership. From your first day at Murj, you are eligible for full medical, dental, and vision insurance along with an open vacation policy, more than 10 annual company holidays, and competitive compensation and equity participation, and a 401(k) after 3 months of service. **How We Work at Murj** Murj is the right place for people who excel in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Murj embodies a high-performance culture where every team member is expected to exceed expectations and take ownership beyond their role to drive our collective success. Employees should be comfortable working independently and taking initiative to identify and address needs. This proactive approach is essential to thriving at Murj. We believe in working hard together, with a shared sense of purpose and drive. We’re not afraid to ask tough questions, and we support each other in reaching for bold new ideas. **Let us leave you with this.** If this role sounds intriguing - we encourage you to apply. And we encourage applicants to embrace new challenges, as the right fit at Murj is often more about the person and the challenges they seek, not just what they have accomplished in the past. **About The Role.** Murj is seeking a resourceful and highly organized Junior Graphic Designer to help strengthen how our brand is created, maintained, and used across the organization. This role is about more than producing one-off designs. You will help us build a thoughtful, reusable system of brand assets, templates, and resources that enables teams to work efficiently while presenting Murj consistently. Working closely with the Head of Graphic Design and Director of Marketing, you will support a wide range of creative needs, including presentations, marketing collateral, social graphics, video, and print materials. You will primarily work within Murj’s existing visual identity while contributing ideas that help the brand and its supporting resources evolve. This role is well suited to someone who combines strong visual fundamentals with a systems-oriented mindset—someone who enjoys making great work, organizing it well, and finding solutions when the path is not already defined. **What You’ll Do.** - **Build and Manage Our Brand Asset Library:** Organize, maintain, and improve Murj’s shared library of graphics, templates, presentations, video elements, and other reusable creative resources. Establish practical systems for naming, versioning, finding, and using assets. - **Steward Brand Guidelines and Templates:** Help maintain and expand the Murj brand guide, translating brand standards into useful templates and tools for teams across the organization. Support colleagues in using those resources effectively and consistently. - **Create High-Quality Marketing Materials:** Design and refine presentations, campaign graphics, sales and marketing collateral, graphic elements, and other materials based on the needs of the design and marketing teams. - **Support Social and Digital Content:** Create engaging, on-brand graphics for social media and digital campaigns, with an emphasis on developing reusable systems rather than rebuilding common assets each time. - **Edit and Create Video Content:** Help clean up, edit, assemble, and prepare video content for marketing, social, sales, and internal use. Create titles, graphic elements, and simple motion treatments as appropriate. - **Prepare and Refine Print Materials:** Produce polished, print-ready materials and ensure files meet visual, technical, and production requirements. - **Explore Smarter Creative Workflows:** Help Murj evaluate and responsibly incorporate AI-enabled creative tools into its brand and asset workflows. Look for practical ways to improve efficiency while maintaining quality, accuracy, and brand consistency. - **Support Website and Special Projects:** Contribute visual assets and design support for Murj’s upcoming website work and other cross-functional initiatives. This role is not primarily focused on product UI, but familiarity with web design or Figma is valuable. **What Makes You a Great Fit.** - **A Systems Mindset:** You enjoy organization, clear naming conventions, and turning one-off designs into scalable, reusable templates. - **Resourcefulness:** Faced with an unfamiliar tool or assignment, you take the initiative to research, experiment, and figure it out. - **Balanced Stewardship:** You collaborate smoothly with non-design stakeholders, incorporating their input while protecting brand consistency. - **Versatility:** You easily switch contexts—moving between presentation decks, video edits, social graphics, and asset management without missing a detail. - **Modern Workflow Curiosity:** You are excited to test new tools, automation, and AI features to work smarter and cut down on repetitive tasks. **What You Bring.** - Graphic design experience demonstrated through a strong portfolio, internships, freelance work, or comparable projects. - A portfolio demonstrating strong typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and attention to detail across digital and print work. - Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. - Experience creating and refining presentations in PowerPoint or Google Slides. - Experience with shared asset libraries or digital asset-management systems. - Working knowledge of print-production requirements and file preparation. - Strong organizational skills and an interest in building clear, reusable systems for assets and templates. - The ability to receive feedback, manage multiple assignments, and follow work through to completion. - A resourceful, curious approach to unfamiliar tools or assignments—you are comfortable researching, experimenting, and figuring out how to move the work forward. - Strong collaboration and communication skills. **Nice To Haves.** - 2-3 years of relevant graphic design experience. - Motion graphics or animation experience, particularly in After Effects. - Experience editing video using Premiere Pro or a comparable tool. - Familiarity with Figma, website design, or digital design systems. - Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools and responsible creative-use practices. - Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS. - Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or another technical industry. **What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days).** During your first 90 days, success means learning Murj’s brand, becoming a reliable creative partner, and beginning to improve how our design resources are organized and used. You will have: - Built a working understanding of Murj’s brand, products, audiences, and visual standards. - Audited existing brand assets, templates, and shared resources and identified opportunities to improve their organization and usability. - Established an initial structure for maintaining, naming, updating, and distributing commonly used assets. - Updated or improved priority templates and internal brand resources. - Begun delivering dependable creative support across presentations, graphics, social content, video, and print projects. - Started positively influencing how teams find, use, and apply Murj’s brand assets. - Identified practical opportunities to improve creative workflows, including the responsible use of AI-enabled tools. **Location and schedule.** This is a remote-friendly position; however, the role requires core working hours of **8:00 AM – 5:00 PM i**n the employee's timezone to support our clinical customers and internal teams. **Travel expectations:** 1-10%: Minimal to no travel; maybe a few meetings or events
