Junior Mechanical Designer

Job description

Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you've come to the right place! E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems. We're intentional, we're unapologetically curious and we're 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life. The E-Space Manufacturing team builds the world's most advanced aerospace products at high rate and high precision. As a Junior Mechanical Designer, you'll grow your craft designing real production hardware for the satellites of the future. Working in SolidWorks under senior designers, you'll support the mechanical and end-effector (EOAT) design effort - building parts and assemblies, producing drawings, and helping bring designs from prototype to the production floor. It's a hands-on role for an early-career engineer who wants to learn fast in a high-rate aerospace manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering leadership team. ### What you'll be doing: - Create and modify parts, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks under the direction of senior designers. - Support end-effector (EOAT) and mechanical systems projects through prototyping and build. - Produce build documentation and assembly drawings. - Help fabricate, assemble, and test prototypes - from 3D-printed to machined hardware. - Maintain CAD files, revisions, and the parts library to team standards. - Learn and apply GD&T, tolerancing, and design-for-manufacture. ### What you will bring to this role: - Create and modify parts, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks under the direction of senior designers. ### Extra points for the following: - Exposure to automation tooling or EOAT. - Hands-on prototyping, machine-shop, or 3D-printing experience. - Coursework or projects in robotics or aerospace.
