About the Role As a Kairaranga (Navigator), you will support whānau to take control of their own wellbeing and achieve their goals. Through culturally responsive practices, you’ll provide guidance, advocacy, and connection to services that enable whānau to lead safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives. Key Responsibilities Build trusting, productive relationships with whānau and stakeholders. Facilitate whānau-led planning, enabling them to determine their own pathways to hauora. Provide advice, advocacy, and connection to local and regional support networks. Promote and model Whānau Ora principles in all aspects of mahi. Use your knowledge of Te Reo me ōna Tikanga to provide culturally competent, compassionate care. Track and document whānau progress to ensure outcomes align with their aspirations. What You Bring Cultural Connection: Knowledge of Te Reo me ōna Tikanga or a strong commitment to learning. Professional Background: Experience in social work, navigating high-complexity needs, or related fields. Empathy and Resilience: Ability to support whānau through challenging situations with compassion and adaptability. Community Networks: Established connections within local hapū and iwi are advantageous. Communication Skills: Proficient in verbal, written, and digital literacy.
