## About the Role As a **Level 3 Systems Engineer**, you will serve as a senior technical escalation point while playing a key role in infrastructure and security project delivery. You will take ownership of complex technical incidents, perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and design, configure and deploy solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. Working alongside senior engineers, project managers and technical leadership, you will help strengthen escalation capability, support project delivery and provide technical guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers. ## About the Client You will be working with a growing Australian managed services and technology provider supporting organisations across commercial, government, education, healthcare, not-for-profit and community sectors. The business delivers cloud and on-premises infrastructure, managed IT support, cybersecurity and compliance, networking, communications, and specialist technology solutions. It maintains a strong focus on security, high-quality documentation and dependable service delivery. ## Ideal Profile **Background & Experience** - Demonstrated Level 3 or senior systems engineering experience within an MSP or complex, multi-site IT environment. - Advanced troubleshooting expertise across Microsoft 365, Windows, cloud and on-premises infrastructure. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies, security, identity, endpoint and access management. - Solid experience with servers, virtualisation, networking, firewalls and infrastructure deployments. - Proven ability to own complex incidents, identify root causes and determine effective resolutions or escalation paths. - Experience contributing to or delivering infrastructure and technology projects from configuration through deployment. - Strong understanding of cybersecurity and compliance-focused environments. - Familiarity with the Australian Essential Eight is strongly preferred; exposure to ISO-aligned, DISP, SOCI or comparable environments is highly regarded. - MSP experience is preferred, although candidates from sophisticated internal IT environments may also be considered. - Exposure to VMware, SD-WAN, Starlink, remote-community networks, IoT, cameras, alarms or building systems is advantageous. - Experience with PSA, RMM and knowledge-management platforms is desirable. - Strong technical fundamentals with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and vendor platforms. **Systems & Tools** - Microsoft 365, including Intune, Purview, Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud. - Microsoft Azure and Entra ID. - SharePoint and Microsoft Teams. - Google Workspace. - EasyDMARC, ConnectSecure and ThreatLocker. - Blackpoint Cyber SOC/MDR and Keeper Password Manager. - Exclaimer, Phriendly Phishing, Inforcer and AdminDroid. - Datadog. - Datto Autotask PSA, Datto RMM and Datto SaaS Protection. - Hyper-V and VMware. - 3CX voice systems and Adobe products. **Hardware & Infrastructure** - Fortinet firewalls and associated security products. - Ubiquiti networking, wireless, routing, security and camera solutions. - Ruckus Wi-Fi and D-Link networking technologies. - Lenovo, Dell, Apple, HP, ASUS and other endpoint hardware. - Datto BCDR backup solutions. **Professional Skills** - Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with senior engineers, project managers and wider technical teams. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - High standards of technical documentation and knowledge sharing. ## Responsibilities - Act as a senior escalation point for complex, high-impact and persistent technical incidents. - Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across Microsoft 365, Microsoft security, identity, endpoints, cloud and on-premises infrastructure. - Design, build, configure and deploy infrastructure and security solutions for technology projects. - Support server, virtualisation, networking, firewall, SD-WAN, remote-site and security uplift initiatives. - Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers and technical leadership throughout project deployments. - Provide technical guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers and assist with complex escalations. - Review technical changes with consideration for security, operational risk and compliance requirements. - Apply cybersecurity frameworks such as the Australian Essential Eight to practical configurations, controls and remediation activities. - Create and maintain solution designs, configurations, handover materials and technical documentation. - Maintain accurate ticket, project and service records across PSA and RMM platforms. ## How we take care of our team š° Get paid in Australian Dollars š„ Medical insurance from day one for you + spouse (or parents if unmarried) 𩺠Generous OPD coverage from doctor visits to all your medical needs š” Home office setup allowance to build your ideal workspace š Internet allowance to keep you connected šŖ Gym & wellness allowance to stay fit and balanced š Work hard, play hard ā regular team events & engagement activities š§ Diji Assist ā Mental health & counseling support when you need it š We invest in you ā reimbursement for industry certifications š£ļø Open-door culture ā your ideas and feedback always matter š Flexible work ā home or office, wherever you do your best work š Rewards & recognition that actually recognize you š„³ Great christmas & financial year-end parties to unwind with your loved ones
