Job description
**What you need to know about internships at LCBC** *There are a thousand things you can do with your life right now, but what if God is stirring up in you an interest in local church ministry?* **What is the purpose of an internship?** To help you, as a young adult, determine if vocational ministry within a local church is the direction you should head at this time in your life. **Should you consider serving as an intern?** Yes, if you want to explore what serving in church-related vocational ministry is really like, whether you are just beginning to consider a career path, or you are farther along in life and thinking about making a career change. ### What can you expect as an intern? - Settled confidence as to whether vocational ministry is the right path for you. - Significant growth as you are developed spiritually, professionally, and relationally. - Personal attention from seasoned leaders who are committed to your growth. - Real-world experience in vocational ministry within a thriving local church. - Clear next steps to take as you pursue your vocational goals. ### What is the time commitment? - Internships range in length from 3 months (typically for students needing a semester or summer length internship) to 6 months, with the possibility of continuing on for 12 months total. - As an intern, you would serve 10-20 hours per week (we'll work that out when you apply), either at an LCBC location or on one of our Central Teams. - As part of your weekly hours, you will participate in various environments that are critical to your development, such as weekly team meetings and weekend gatherings. ### What else are we expecting of applicants? - That you can tell us how you became a life changed by Christ, specific ways you are growing in that relationship, and where you are actively serving at LCBC, or the church you currently attend. - That you wholeheartedly support, and live out, our mission of introducing people to Jesus and together fully following him. - That you resonate with our core values: we run after the one; we pursue excellence; we prioritize relationships; we deploy people for impact; and we are real and relatable. - That you take initiative, are willing to work hard, love to learn, and desire to grow spiritually, professionally, and relationally within a team environment.
