Lead Manufacturing Test Engineer

Job description

We are looking for a dynamic and confident engineer to expand our global manufacturing test team. This is a great opportunity to be part of the Manufacturing Technology Development (MTD) organization providing technical leadership and direction on engineering strategies for the development of electronics manufacturing system. You will work with product design engineers, manufacturing engineers, cross functional team, and our contract manufacturers in our diverse global organisation all around the world. You will be instrumental in guiding manufacturing test teams in purchase, implementation, and development of electronic manufacturing system. You will need to be objective and diligent, working with a defined process, but also able to see a bigger picture, voice your opinion and work to improve product quality through all available avenues. As lead engineer, you will be responsible to derive test system architectural design of a manufacturing test system intended for proof of principle test, engineering phase and high-volume production. In this role, you will be directly involved influencing technical details of developing manufacturing test solution from concept, system architecture, equipment specification, design development, system integration, qualification, deployment, and problem analysis. In this position, you will be the main liaison between product development team (RDD), test suppliers and contract manufacturers in ensuring an ergonomic manufacturing test solution is developed and fit for purpose of high-volume production mode. Additionally, in this role you must be capable of overseeing high-impact area and test complexity with great sense of urgency or any critical issues related to test and measurement solution by driving internal and external cross-functional collaboration and execution plan for successful deployment of the test solution at contract manufacturers. Further to this, you will be responsible for collaborating with upstream and downstream teams related to investigation updates (8D fish bone analysis), findings (RCCA), and possible remediations related to manufacturing test issues. Main Duties/Responsibilities: Involving at early phase of product development to understand and influencing design of experiment (DoE) with data analysis, design for test (Dft), design for manufacturability (DfM) and reviewing complexity through early NUDD process. Develop draft manufacturing test plan with product owner and justify the need for manufacturing deployment. Responsible to generate and review test equipment specification with internal and external team considering test methods, hardware/software signal interface requirement and cost-effective instrument integration for complete test solution. Collaborate with product design team (RDD) on manufacturing test requirement, test specification, test limits and critical test for quality (CTQ). You will be responsible to review supplier technical proposal (RFP) and optimizing test solution into full scale for high durability and performance. Standardizing the design of test solution where it is feasible and applicable and maximizing the re-usability of test equipment for future application. Work on manufacturing test strategy compatible with the needs of the business and bringing value to the manufacturing processes. Drive engineering deliverables with great sense of urgency for any productivity issues related to the test and measurement system with the support of the respective functional teams internally and externally. Optimise manufacturing cycle time by streamline manufacturing test script and simplicity of test and measurement design. Driving continuous improvement plan using statistical tools such as CpK analysis to optimize manufacturing test limits. Research and recommend new technologies to improve tester efficiency. Work with project management team to deliver test equipment reliably. Lead functional test engineer on technical deliverables and action plan.
