Lead Monetization Manager

Job description

This isn’t your regular job. Almedia is a place where those who want to push harder can accelerate their careers faster than anywhere else. We’re aiming to become Germany’s second bootstrapped unicorn. Almedia is already Europe’s #3 fastest-growing company in 2025 (FT1000). We are building the future of marketing by rewarding our community of over 95 million users for engaging with our advertisers’ products. We are offering a new way to acquire users for the biggest companies in the world. At Almedia, you’ll: - Own way more, way earlier — you’ll be trusted with responsibility fast. - Push harder, get further — this isn’t a 9–5. We highly reward intensity. - Join a rare environment — you will work with ambitious high-speed, high-ownership people. - Fully present — we’re 5 days a week in the office to build the energising momentum we need. Ads are already live in the Freecash app via AppLovin MAX; now we want a hands-on lead to aggressively grow ad revenue across interstitial, rewarded, and custom ad units while maintaining a sharp focus on user experience. This is a senior, high-impact individual-contributor role. ## **What You’ll Own 🎯** - **In-App Optimization & Placement:** Improve ad placements, formats, dynamic triggers, and audience segmentation within the Freecash app to maximize revenue potential. - **Custom Ad Formats:** Innovate, develop, and test high-performing custom ad formats built specifically for our audience and app architecture. - **Direct Exchange & Network Partnerships:** Work directly with ad exchanges, demand partners, and networks to drive custom deals, direct integrations, and premium monetization opportunities. - **Bidding & Mediation Strategy:** Collaborate closely with the bidding team and optimize MAX mediation, unified bidding, waterfall setups, and floor price strategies. - **Experimentation & Execution:** Run frequent, data-driven tests to continuously lift CPMs, ARPU, and overall ad revenue. - **Product & UX Balance:** Work closely with product leadership and Marco to balance top-line revenue gains against retention and long-term user experience trade-offs. ## **What You’ll Bring 💡** - **Proven Ownership:** Track record of driving in-app ad monetization in gaming, rewarded apps, or high-volume consumer apps. - **Deep Ad Tech Mastery:** Hands-on experience with rewarded ads, interstitials, programmatic mediation platforms (e.g., AppLovin MAX), bidding environments, and working directly with ad exchanges. - **Bidding & Growth Alignment:** Experience working alongside bidding/user acquisition teams to align supply-side optimization with demand-side unit economics. - **Custom Format Innovation:** Ability to conceptualize and execute bespoke or hybrid ad formats in partnership with product and engineering teams. - **Commercial Drive:** Demonstrated success turning experimental concepts and commercial partnerships into measurable, scalable revenue growth. - *Bonus:* Experience extending monetization strategies to new products or emerging platforms (e.g., Link). ## **What Makes You a Great Fit 🌟** - **Own Everything:** You build the plan, pull the levers, and execute seamlessly without relying on a team beneath you. - **Raise the Bar:** You question the data, find hidden margin opportunities others miss, and demand excellence. - **Move Fast:** You prioritize rapid testing, learning, and shipping over waiting for a perfect playbook. ## **Why Almedia? 🎁** - **Scale With Almedia:** Grow alongside a startup that has been profitable from day one. - **Central Berlin Office:** Work from a fully-stocked modern office built for collaboration, accessible from all around Berlin. - **Other Benefits:** Transport subsidy, breakfasts and lunches, language learning, Urban Sports Club, and more. We believe in fostering talent, evaluating all skill levels during the hiring process, and providing a clear path for growth. Almedia is an equal opportunity employer. We embrace and celebrate diversity, and encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
