Lead Product Manager, Feed ERP

Job description

**About Us:** Datacor is the leading provider of software solutions, including ERP, CRM, Asset Tracking, Simulation and Formulation, to the process manufacturing space. We are on a mission to better equip the industry with software solutions and move it forward by building thoughtful, intuitive products that solve our customers’ most difficult problems. We are passionate about serving our customers and helping them use data as a competitive advantage. Our customers make products that extend and sustain lives by sanitizing, fertilizing, beautifying, cleaning, and recycling the world we live in. We at Datacor help our customers make those products you use every day more safely, cost effectively and more efficiently through our technology platforms and applications. **About this role:** Feed mills and grain businesses run their daily operations on Datacor Animal Nutrition's Feed ERP products, Feed Mill Manager and Pennent Mill Manager: commodity merchandising, procurement, plant production, and delivery. As Lead Product Manager, you own the strategy, roadmap, and revenue outcomes for this product line. This role is not a backlog-management job. You are accountable for product-level ARR, net revenue retention, and win rate, and you set pricing and packaging direction. The core qualification is industry depth: you understand how merchandisers, plant managers, and feed businesses actually work, and you turn that into products they will pay for. **What you will do:** **Strategy & Commercial Ownership** - **Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap** for Feed Mill Manager and Pennent Mill Manager, aligning Engineering, Services, Support, and Commercial teams on priorities that drive retention, cross-sell, upsell, and new-market growth. - **Own the numbers.** Accountable for product-level ARR, net revenue retention, and win rate. - **Build the pricing and packaging recommendation,** including tier design and customer migration, and present it to the Datacor Pricing Committee. - **Frame ambiguous business goals** into a problem, options, and a plan. Make product-level tradeoffs, influence resourcing within the unit, and work across Datacor products to avoid duplicative investment. **Market & Customer Discovery** - **Run competitive research and win/loss analysis,** and turn findings into roadmap and positioning changes. - **Lead the product advisory group,** from agenda to synthesis to follow-through, and represent Datacor Animal Nutrition at industry events. - **Validate before you build.** Set success criteria up front, test ideas with customers using AI-built prototypes, and kill work that misses the bar. - **Own AI-enabled capabilities in the product,** including quality bars, failure modes, and customer trust, and an AI-assisted discovery workflow that is fast and verifiable. **Delivery, Launch & Leadership** - **Prioritize the backlog against the roadmap,** defining use cases, requirements, and measurable outcomes, and escalating cross-functional risks and blockers. - **Own tiered launches** with readiness gates and success criteria. Drive Sales, Services, and Support enablement (battlecards, objection handling, AE/SE readiness) and partner with Product Marketing on analyst briefings, webinars, and user conference sessions. - **Lead without direct authority.** Broker competing priorities, hold the line on product decisions, coach junior PMs, and own interview loops for the product. **What we are looking for** **Required:** - **Feed industry depth.** Meaningful experience in agribusiness, feed manufacturing, or commodity trading, with working knowledge of at least two of: commodity merchandising, ingredient procurement, feed plant operations or livestock feed regulatory requirements. - **Product line ownership.** You have owned a B2B software product's roadmap and business outcomes, balancing strategy with delivery. - **Commercial judgment.** Evidence that your pricing, packaging, win/loss, or business case work changed a decision. - **Discovery craft.** You push past a customer's requested solution to the underlying problem and validate before committing engineering time. - **Strong communication.** You can lay out a problem, options, tradeoffs, and a recommendation in a written narrative someone can act on without a meeting, and present it credibly to executives, engineers, and customers. - **Hands-on AI use.** You use AI daily to research, draft, analyze, and prototype, and you know when its output needs verification. - **Technical fluency.** Comfortable discussing data models, integrations, and product details with development teams. - **Ownership without authority.** You drive results through teams that do not report to you, and you travel to customers and events. - **Education.** Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. **Preferred:** - Experience with feed and/or ration formulation software, familiarity with nutrition or feed labeling regulations, software development, or product managing AI or data-driven capabilities. **At Datacor, we believe great work deserves great rewards. That’s why we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and work-life balance. Here’s what you can look forward to:** - Flexible time off (FTO) policy - Paid parental leave - Remote-first work environment - 401(k) with company contribution - Premier medical, vision, and dental insurance with company-funded HRA - Competitive pay and bonus programs - Employee assistance program - A culture of rewards and recognition **EOE Statement:** Datacor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis or race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. **Use of AI During Interviews:** At Datacor, we value thoughtful problem-solving and authentic perspectives. To ensure a fair and consistent evaluation process, we ask that candidates do not use generative AI tools or outside assistance during live interviews unless explicitly stated otherwise. We're interested in hearing your experience, your approach, and how you think through challenges.
