ERM is seeking an experienced Learning Content Designer (6-month contract), based in Atlanta, GA or Philadelphia to help transform complex knowledge into meaningful, high‑impact learning experiences that drive real capability and behavior change. This is a global role, working flexibly across time zones, and suited to a hands‑on learning content specialist who thrives in fast‑moving, transformation‑led environments. As ERM continues to grow and evolve, this role plays a critical part in enabling our people with the skills, tools, and insights they need to succeed. Preferred location will be Atlanta, GA or Philadelphia, PA. Other locations on the East Coast may be considered. Why This Role Matters? What Your Impact Is: Design and write high‑quality, learner‑centred content that drives performance and behaviour change Rapidly synthesise complex information into effective, accessible learning assets Enable speed and scalability by using AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders across services and regions to deliver value‑adding learning solutions Contribute to a consistent, engaging learner experience across programmes, platforms, and formats Support global Learning & Development initiatives through strong coordination, content management, and operational excellence What You'll Bring: Required Strong instructional design, learning content writing, and sense‑making skills Demonstrated ability to independently design and write learning content aligned to defined outcomes, skills, and behaviours Experience rapidly distilling complex, technical, or specialist information into usable learning content Effective use of generative AI tools to support first‑draft creation, content variation, scenario generation, summarisation, and iterative development Strong human learning judgement to validate accuracy, relevance, ethical AI use, and learning effectiveness Experience designing learning across multiple formats, including instructor‑led, self‑paced, digital, blended, and campaign‑based learning Ability to create modular, reusable learning content suitable for use in the flow of work Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence partnering with SMEs across regions and services Experience using learning content development tools and designing for LMS/LXP and workplace platforms (e.g., Teams, SharePoint) Awareness of accessibility, inclusion, and learning design standards Strong organisational and time management skills with high attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) Familiarity with LMS platforms (Cornerstone OnDemand preferred) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and time zones Comfort working in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Preferred Experience in a learning, HR, or client engagement role Familiarity with virtual learning tools (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, Galaxy LXP) Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design fundamentals Experience coordinating learning or training programmes in a global or matrixed organisation Key Responsibilities: Instructional Content Design & Learning Writing Design and write learner‑centred content aligned to defined outcomes, skills, and behaviours Apply instructional design principles to support application, not just knowledge transfer Create clear, engaging learning narratives across diverse subject matter Adapt content style, depth, and structure for different audiences and contexts Rapid Sense‑Making & Content Development Distil complex, technical, or specialist information into effective learning content Prioritise what matters most for learner performance Work iteratively, delivering usable content early and improving over time Balance speed, accuracy, and learning effectiveness in transformation‑led environments AI‑Augmented Content Development (Applied) Use generative AI tools to support drafting, content variation, scenario creation, examples, and practice activities Summarise and restructure SME or technical input effectively Apply editorial judgement to ensure accuracy, relevance, ethical use, tone, and ERM standards Integrate AI naturally into the content design workflow to increase speed and scalability Multi‑Format & Flow‑of‑Work Learning Design learning across instructor‑led, self‑paced, digital, blended, and campaign‑based formats Create modular content that can be reused, recombined, and adapted over time Design learning assets intended for use in the flow of work SME Partnership & Learning Consulting Partner with SMEs across services and regions to extract insight efficiently Ask effective questions to surface performance needs Translate SME input into learner‑centred content without overreliance on raw source material Build credibility as a learning partner through strong design judgement Learning Tools, Platforms & Content Craft Build learning assets using appropriate tools and formats based on need, speed, and scale Design content for delivery via LMS/LXP and workplace platforms Apply accessibility, inclusion, and ERM learning design standards consistently Programme Coordination & Learner Experience Schedule and manage learning logistics, instructor communications, and virtual session setup Maintain training calendars, records, and LMS data accuracy Serve as a primary point of contact for learners, providing guidance and support Monitor attendance, feedback, and engagement metrics to inform improvements Provide live coordination and hosting support during training sessions Content, Resource & Operational Support Collaborate with Global Learning Program Leads to prepare and distribute learning materials Support evaluation of learning programmes using surveys, feedback, and performance metrics Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation Support compliance with GDPR and internal data protection policies Liaise with IT and HRIS teams to maintain integration with Workday and SSO systems Additional Attributes Champion ERM’s purpose, values, and safety protocols Comfortable embracing ambiguity and change Strong self‑management and prioritisation skills Confident escalating issues and proactively problem‑solving Adaptable, resourceful, and able to move between projects with ease Service‑oriented mindset, supporting the development and retention of ERM staff and the company’s growth strategy Who We Are: As the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, we partner with the world’s leading organizations, creating innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and unlocking commercial opportunities that meet the needs of today while preserving opportunity for future generations.
