Job description
We are seeking a friendly and supportive Activities Assistant to join our team in Melville, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with recreational activities. Salary Range: $19.00 - $22.00 Hourly The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for implementing assigned programs and events to meet the needs, interests, and capabilities of the residents within the community. Responsibilities and Duties • Assists with planning and implementing programs that meet the needs and interests of the residents • Assists with creating resident histories and profiles with resident/family involvement • Assumes responsibility for engaging residents in daily programs set-up and clean-up of daily programs scheduled • Assists with creating a monthly social program calendar and distributes them to community personnel and residents • Keeps residents engaged between planned programs • Drive the community vehicle for resident outings • Participates in and attends all in-service training as scheduled • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • Related experience in leading programs • High school diploma or higher education preferred • Excellent verbal and written communication • Willing to work flexible hours • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applications • Ability to drive the community vehicle for resident outings Physical Abilities • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell. • An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 25 lbs.
