Livestock Driver

Job description

DRIVE THE SOUTH ISLAND. GET PAID FOR THE ADVENTURE. Love the open road? Want a job that’s more adventure than routine? At Northern Southland Transport we’re on the hunt for new drivers to jump into the cab and join our crew of livestock transport legends. A couple of our young guns have headed off to” see the world” …… so now it’s your turn to take the wheel. THIS ISN’T JUST A DRIVING JOB, IT’S; • Sunrise stars in the high country • Big horsepower and even bigger views • Road trips across the South Island • A truck that becomes your office, your tour bus and sometimes your hotel Some people pay thousands to travel New Zealand. We will hand you the keys and pay you to do it. WHAT YOU’LL BE DRIVING 9 axle/54 ton/ 4 deck livestock transporters If you can handle a Class 5 vehicle and can back a trailer without creating a viral YouTube moment, we want to speak with you. Experience with livestock is awesome – but attitude is what really matters. If you’ve got the work ethic, we will teach you the rest. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • Class 5 licence • Reliable, switched-on and ready to work • Good with customers and good with animals • Proud of your work and your truck • Strong focus on compliance and health & safety Male or female, young gun or old hand. If you’re keen, capable and ready to go – there’s a seat waiting here for you. And, no – you’re not away all the time, if getting home regularly is important to you then it is important to us as well, we’ll work with you to ensure that happens. THE BEST PART Every week is different. One day you’re rolling through the deep south, that afternoon you’re rocking through the McKenzie High Country or the Canterbury plains, that night you’re parked up in the middle of nowhere under the stars somewhere most tourists never in their wildest dreams get to see. This job isn’t for everyone. But, if you love trucks, freedom, responsibility, working with awesome people and a bit of adventure…. YOU’LL LOVE IT HERE.
