Local Host Advocate (Sunshine Coast Hinterland, QLD)

Job description

About the role Hipcamp is looking for a relationship-driven Outside Sales Representative to help us build a new field sales channel in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, QLD region. This role is specifically for someone who already has relationships and credibility within the Blue Mountains agricultural and farming community. You’ll leverage your existing network to connect Hipcamp with farmers, graziers, landowners, and other property owners interested in generating new income from their land. While the primary focus of the role is growing Hipcamp’s private-land host network, you’ll also identify relevant commercial camping opportunities in this market, such as independent caravan parks and established campgrounds. You’ll spend your time meeting landowners in person, generating new leads, visiting properties, re-engaging hard-to-reach prospects, and representing Hipcamp at local agricultural and community events. You’ll be compensated on an hourly basis, plus you'll be eligible for a bonus for each new host you bring onto Hipcamp and successfully take live. What you'll do Leverage your existing agricultural and local community network to generate new host opportunities. Build relationships with farmers, graziers, landowners, and outdoor businesses. Conduct in-person prospecting, property visits, and sales meetings. Generate opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise enter Hipcamp’s digital sales funnel. Identify and pursue relevant commercial camping opportunities, including local caravan parks and established campgrounds, where appropriate. Attend farmers' markets, agricultural events, shows, field days, and community gatherings. Maintain your pipeline in our CRM and partner with the broader sales team. Share local market insights and identify opportunities for Hipcamp to grow. Qualifications Deep familiarity with the local agricultural and farming community — this is essential. 1+ year of sales, business development, or relationship-building experience. Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently. Persistent and comfortable with rejection. Valid driver licence, reliable transport, and verifiable comprehensive car insurance. About our Work Environment Compensation will be competitive compared to similar-stage companies and based on location. We believe that clearly defined goals combined with great people, empowerment, and autonomy create the best results. We feel confident that inclusive and diverse teams working on an important cause can accomplish extraordinary things. Hipcamp is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
