Job description
On behalf of our client, FDC Group are seeking to hire a Machinery Operator to join a well-established and progressive Dairy Farm in East Cork . Location: East Cork Job Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, with some weekend overtime. Key Responsibilities Operate a range of farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, including tractors, loaders and associated implements. Carry out feeding, silage, slurry, fertiliser and general farm operations as required. Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure machinery remains in excellent working condition. Assist with seasonal farm activities including harvesting and grassland management. Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. Follow all health and safety procedures and farm protocols. Keep records of machinery use, maintenance schedules and operational activities where required. Support the wider farm team in achieving production and operational targets. Requirements Previous experience operating agricultural machinery is essential. Valid driver's licence required; tractor licence/certification desirable. Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and address minor maintenance issues. Strong awareness of health and safety practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable, punctual and self-motivated with a strong work ethic. Flexibility to work additional hours during busy seasonal periods. Desirable Skills Experience working on a dairy farm or within an agricultural setting. Knowledge of grassland, slurry and fertiliser management. Experience using GPS-guided machinery and modern farm technology. Teleporter or loader certification would be an advantage.
