Develop, modify, and debug PLC and HMI programs to improve equipment performance and reliability. Perform electrical troubleshooting using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools. Install, wire, test, and commission automation equipment, control panels, motors, sensors, drives, and related components. Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities on automated production equipment. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maximize machine performance. Create and maintain documentation including electrical drawings, PLC backups, and troubleshooting records. Support automation and controls projects at other Flooring locations as needed. To be successful in this role, you’ll need: B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance, controls, or automation experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, or similar platforms. Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, control panel modifications, and equipment startup activities. Knowledge of motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution systems, and industrial electrical systems. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex electrical and controls issues under production conditions. Willingness to travel 30-40% to support other manufacturing facilities. Things we consider a plus: Previous experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment in a maintenance capacity. Experience commissioning new equipment and automation systems.
