Job description
About the Role The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and facility systems. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to diagnose problems and make repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has experience maintaining industrial machinery, forklifts, electrical systems, and/or facility equipment and enjoys solving problems and keeping production moving. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing equipment and industrial machinery. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing issues. Perform maintenance and repairs on forklifts and other material-handling equipment . Inspect equipment to identify wear, defects, or potential problems before they result in downtime. Assist with the installation, setup, relocation, and startup of new machinery and equipment. Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance needs in a timely manner. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation. Work closely with the Facilities Manager and Operations team to prioritize maintenance needs and minimize production downtime. Follow established safety procedures and OSHA requirements while performing maintenance work. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area. Participate in safety training and department meetings. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training is a plus. Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a similar hands-on maintenance role . Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with forklift maintenance and repair preferred. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred. Plumbing experience is a plus. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and other documentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with production and maintenance teams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
