You will oversee people leadership, delivery execution, engineering standards, application lifecycle ownership, and long-term talent strategy across 20–30+ engineers and managers. This is a highly influential role—your leadership will shape delivery velocity, engineering quality, architectural direction, and global alignment across two enterprise platforms. What you will do Provide strategic leadership across Store Web Modernization and Loss Prevention Engineering, establishing direction, guardrails, and engineering excellence. Lead, mentor, and develop a multi‑team India engineering organization (20–30+ FTE) including Engineering Managers and senior ICs. Drive predictable end‑to‑end delivery: roadmap planning, risk management, sequencing, and cross‑team coordination with global partners. Own modernization execution—ensuring secure, scalable, high-quality application delivery through strong engineering practices, sound design decisions, and disciplined execution. Strengthen application quality and operational discipline through effective issue management, release readiness, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Partner with Loss Prevention product, security, and analytics teams to build compliant, reliable, enterprise‑grade LP platforms. Provide hands-on technical leadership across application architecture, solution design, development practices, integration patterns, and engineering review processes. Shape engineering excellence through strong design reviews, coding standards, testing discipline, development lifecycle practices, and high-quality delivery expectations. Drive workforce planning, hiring strategy, vendor partnerships, and budget stewardship for two engineering portfolios. Deliver crisp, executive‑ready communication—clear risk articulation, status updates, and operational insights. Create a culture of extreme ownership, urgency, accountability, and production safety across teams. Minimum Qualifications 16-21 years in software engineering with 8+ years leading multi‑team engineering organizations. Proven leadership in managing the development of large‑scale modern retail/customer-facing applications. Deep experience with hosted applications (Cloud and/or on-premises datacenters). Experience leading modern application development practices, including DevOps-enabled delivery, release management, quality engineering, and scalable enterprise design. Strong communication and influence skills across global product, architecture, operations, and executive stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading engineering for retail/store systems or Loss Prevention technologies. Azure Cloud Platform. Enterprise business applications. Experience leading teams that support highly available, business-critical enterprise applications with strong quality and support practices. Familiarity with enterprise integration approaches, analytics enablement, and secure application delivery patterns.
