Manager, Sales Development

Job description

Blitzy is a Cambridge, MA based AI software development platform on a mission to revolutionize the software development life cycle by autonomously building custom software to unlock the next industrial revolution. We're transforming how enterprises build software, turning enterprise requirements into enterprise grade code with an agentic software development platform that can autonomously execute 80% of the quantum of software development work. We're backed by multiple tier 1 investors, and have proven success as founders of previous start-ups. ## **Our Culture** **Who we are:** Led by two pioneering co-founders we are one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S., creating our own category of enterprise autonomous software development. We automate thousands of hours of software development for our customers, which includes strong representation within the Fortune 500. **How we work:** - **We move Blitzy Fast:** Time is both our company’s and our clients’ most precious asset. We move quickly and decisively to innovate internally and deliver exceptional software externally. - **Championship Mindset:** We operate like a professional sports team. We win as a team by holding ourselves and each other to high standards, collaborating in-person, and remaining focused on the mission. - **Passion for Invention:** We’re pushing the frontier of what’s possible, requiring constant innovation and iteration. - **We Work for the Customer:** We focus on delivering outsized value to the customers we work with and expanding those relationships into deep, meaningful partnerships. ## **About the Role** We are building Blitzy's Business Development function from the ground up, and this is the first people-leadership hire in it. As BDR Manager you will own the founding cohort of technically-fluent BDRs, recruit, onboard, certify, and coach them to the Blitzy standard and build the coaching layer of a world-class pipeline organization designed first contact to close. You report to the VP of Business Development and partner closely with Account Executives, Enablement, RevOps / Sales Productivity, and Recruiting. This is a builder's role and a player-coach role: the playbook, the standard, and the tooling exist in first-draft form, your job is to install them with real reps, hold the bar, and make the motion repeatable. Success is a high-quality pipeline that converts, produced by a team that ramps fast and stays. ## **Responsibilities** - Hire, train, and develop the founding BDR cohort; maintain coverage across the territory as the team scales. - Own onboarding and enablement with Enablement — run the 30-60-90 ramp curriculum and the certification and taped role-play gates; refine the hiring profile with Recruiting. - Coach daily and run weekly 1:1s: scorecard review, one skill focus (calls, objections, messaging), and a pipeline walk; document and email coaching notes on every opportunity. - Own the metrics funnel and inspect it on a routine — activity, connect rate, meetings booked → accepted (NBM), NBM → conversion, pipeline generated, and attainment. - Run the accepted-NBM / quota-relief workflow against the objective rubric, and audit approvals for consistency. - Protect the handoff: spot-check transitions, triage drop-off, and partner with the AEs to kill bad pipeline, elevate good, and rescue what's sliding. - Ensure inbound leads are actioned within SLA; keep CRM and team data accurate. - Create spiffs for special motions; run QBRs; track attainment QoQ and YoY; help leadership evaluate tools, forecast, and set best practices. - Assist in career pathing into AE and other GTM roles (BDR → Senior BDR → AE, ~16–18 months) ## **Qualifications** - Experience managing or coaching SDR/BDR reps or a top-performing rep ready to lead, with a track record of developing early-career sellers. - The ability to teach a rigorous discovery motion: MEDDPICC and the pain funnel, and to certify reps on tape. - Comfort in a technical, enterprise, high-ACV motion, you can coach reps to speak credibly with engineering leaders and CTOs. - Data-driven coaching instincts (Gong, HubSpot); you inspect behavior, not just activity. - A builder's mindset — you will help create a process, hold a high standard, and iterate; low ego, high curiosity, championship mentality. - Preferred: prior SDR/BDR leadership at an enterprise SaaS or technical platform; familiarity with modern software-development concepts. ***Compensation: $110,000 - $175,000 +Uncapped Commission + Equity*** *Blitzy is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
