Job description
### Responsibilities - Serve as “hands-on” Manufacturing Engineer on project team dedicated to assembly of lithium ion and lithium metal batteries - Design and implement tools and processes to manufacture new products - Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead changes to improve product quality - Identify and implement new equipment and processes - Develop process parameters for a variety of manufacturing assembly operations, including heat sealing, laser welding, laser cutting, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding, and battery winding - Train technicians with assembly techniques; some "hands-on" assembly work may be required - Perform equipment setup and minor equipment repairs - Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions to minimize recurrence - Assist with product design decisions and changes - Develop comprehensive work instructions and process controls - Generate and implement work area layouts / participate in 6S initiatives - Prepare and present technical presentations to customers as it relates to product line issues ### Requirements - B.S. in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required. - 2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment. - Experience with tool design (SolidWorks preferred), process parameter development, machining equipment operation, and laser welding highly desired - Ability to interact with various departments and good verbal and written communication skills. - Creative thinking, self-motivating, problem solving skills, and a desire to remain current with emerging technologies. - Solid mechanical aptitude and proficiency in the use of hand tools.
