Market Manager (Japan)

**About the company** At Nuitée, we are building the API backbone for the global travel industry. Founded in 2017, Nuitée is on a mission to transform a fragmented travel ecosystem with simple, scalable, and API-first infrastructure—think “Stripe for Travel.” By enabling seamless connectivity between hotels, OTAs, fintechs, super-apps, and businesses, some of which are entering the travel market for the first time, Nuitée empowers companies to deliver reliable travel products effortlessly. Our robust platform simplifies complex supplier networks, offering direct access to hotel inventory with better pricing, coverage, and technology. With teams across the globe, including hubs in London, New York, San Francisco, Palma de Mallorca and Casablanca, Nuitée has grown into a global infrastructure provider trusted by industry leaders like Hopper, Priceline, Google, and Uber. Now backed by leading VCs and world-class investors including leaders from [](http://booking.com/), Stripe, and Shopify, Nuitée is positioned to redefine the B2B travel market, streamline operations for hotels, and enable new applications through cutting-edge APIs. Nuitée is at the forefront of a revolution—delivering AI-powered, smarter, and more personalized travel experiences for a new era. **About the role:***Remote, based in Japan* Own a portfolio of directly contracted hotels across Japan, and decide how far you can take it. Nuitée is growing its direct hotel supply across Japan, and this is the next portfolio ready for someone to take full ownership of. As Market Manager, you'll be the go-to person for every hotel partner you manage: setting the commercial strategy, keeping pricing and availability sharp, and making sure each property is fully activated and performing. You'll work hand in hand with hotel revenue managers, GMs, and cluster teams, using Nuitée's dashboards to catch performance gaps early and turn them into fixes before they cost bookings. It's a hands-on, high-ownership role, and one where near-native Japanese and real knowledge of the local hotel market aren't nice-to-haves — they're what it takes to run commercial conversations with Japanese hotel partners and actually move pricing and promotions forward. #### **What makes it interesting for you:** - You own the commercial strategy for your own portfolio: pricing, promotions, availability, and which hotels get switched back on - You're the direct link between Nuitée and hotel revenue managers and GMs — no layers in between - You work hands-on with real-time performance dashboards built for fast decisions, not static reporting - Nuitée's direct supply team keeps growing, and Japan is one of the regions it's investing in next — early ownership here comes with room to grow as the portfolio scales Nuitée has grown 10x since 2022, stayed profitable the entire time, and raised a $48M Series A led by Accel. Demand partners like Grab and Priceline already send bookings through Nuitée's platform, and direct supply — the inventory you'd own — is a growing priority for where that demand gets filled. #### **The kind of problems you'll work on:** - How do you get a newly signed hotel fully live and producing bookings, fast? - What's actually holding a specific hotel back — price, availability, or something more structural? - How do you turn a dashboard full of data into the two or three things worth fixing today? - How do you build a quarterly account plan a hotel partner actually finds useful? - How do you keep an issue moving until it's closed, instead of letting it sit? #### **This role fits someone who:** - Has 5+ years specifically in a Market Manager, Area Manager, or equivalent portfolio-ownership role at an OTA, bedbank, or hotel-distribution platform - Is native or fluent in Japanese, with real working knowledge of the Japan hotel and travel market - Lives comfortably in dashboards and turns data into action instead of just tracking it - Understands hotel pricing, inventory, and connectivity well enough to spot exactly what's broken - Is highly organized and execution-driven — issues on your desk get closed, not carried into next week - Can be based anywhere in APAC, as long as you can work the hours and relationships the Japan market needs You will do well here if you're proactive, hands-on, and move with a real sense of urgency. If that sounds like your kind of problem to solve, we'd love to hear from you. You can apply with your LinkedIn profile or CV. The interview process is straightforward and typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. **Why Nuitee?** At Nuitée, we’re not just reimagining travel—we’re building the infrastructure to power it. - Massive Market Opportunity: We are tackling the $9.9tn travel industry, starting with the $75 billion B2B hotel market, a fragmented space filled with outdated systems, gatekeepers, and inefficiencies.
