The Role
Role Purpose
Provide engineering oversight, QA governance and technical support across EnerMech Gladstone workshop and field mechanical services, including valves, flange management, joint integrity, pressure testing and mechanical integrity activities.
The role ensures safe, compliant and commercially sound delivery aligned to client specifications, Australian Standards and NATA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Governance
- Provide engineering support across workshop and field activities
- Review and approve procedures, ITPs, test packs and method statements
- Ensure compliance with ASME, API and relevant Australian Standards
- Support tenders, technical clarifications and risk reviews
Valves
- Provide technical oversight for valve inspection, refurbishment and testing
- Ensure compliance with API, ASME and client valve specifications
- Review valve test and repair procedures and QA/QC documentation
- Support workshop capability uplift in valve testing and repair
Joint Integrity and Flange Management
- Support flange management and bolting programs
- Ensure alignment with relevant standards and client standards
- Review torque calculations, gasket selection and bolting procedures
- Provide governance for joint integrity documentation and traceability
Pressure Testing (Hydrostatic and Pneumatic)
- Develop and review hydrostatic and pneumatic test procedures
- Ensure safe execution of high energy testing
- Maintain NATA compliance and audit readiness
- Ensure calibration control and test traceability
Mechanical Integrity and QA QC
- Provide oversight of pressure vessels, piping and mechanical equipment
- Coordinate and review NDT activities
- Ensure MDR completion and quality compliance
- Support technical investigations and root cause analysis
Chemical Cleaning and System Preparation
- Oversee flushing, purging, nitrogen and dosing activities
- Ensure metallurgy compatibility and safe chemical handling
- Verify cleanliness and acceptance criteria
Workshop and Machining Support
- Provide engineering support to machining and refurbishment work
- Review tolerances, repairs and component suitability
You Are
Key Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Heavy industry experience (oil and gas, LNG, power or mining)
- Strong knowledge of pressure systems and piping codes
- Experience with valves, joint integrity and pressure testing
- Exposure to NATA accredited environments preferred
- RPEQ or potential to obtain asap
