We won [#1 Highest Customer Satisfaction](https://gc.ai/blog/gc-ai-saas-award-winner-2026) at the 2026 SaaS Awards. Our investors include Scale Venture Partners, Northzone, Sound Ventures, and Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel. You’ll define how things get built, not follow someone else’s playbook. Six principles guide how the team works: - 📈 1% Better Every Day: small, compounding improvements across everything you ship. - ❤️‍🔥 Customer Obsession: start with the customer and work backward. - 🚀 Ship Today: bias toward action and iteration over perfection. - 🧗 Find a Way: resourcefulness and ambition over constraint. - 🤝 Care: be direct, like an honest friend, even when it’s uncomfortable. - 🎯 Own It: full accountability, proactive communication, and attention to detail. ## **About The Role** We're looking for a Member of Technical Staff, Product Engineering who's passionate about building products that transform how knowledge work gets done. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll have end-to-end ownership of features that directly impact thousands of lawyers' daily work. You’ll work directly with the founding team on building the future of legal work. ## **Why This Role Matters** Legal teams today are drowning in work. Our platform changes that, but only if we build it right. You'll be crafting the systems that make sophisticated legal work feel simple and intuitive. Your code won't just ship features; it will fundamentally change how legal teams operate, making their work faster, smarter, and more impactful. ## **What You'll Do** - Design and implement full-stack features that blend elegant UX with robust backend systems. - Architect scalable solutions across our entire tech stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js). - Shape our technical direction, making crucial decisions about architecture and infrastructure. - Build and optimize cloud-native systems using GCP. - Mentor and uplift other engineers through thoughtful code reviews and knowledge sharing. - Drive innovation in both our codebase and the legal tech industry as a whole. ## **Impact You'll Have** - Own mission-critical surfaces end-to-end from API to UI that lawyers use daily to review, draft, and advise. - Turn customer feedback into shippable specs and ship quickly, improving quality while shrinking lead time for change. - Raise the reliability bar (observability, testing, fallbacks) so complex AI features behave predictably in high-stakes moments. - Help build the leading legal AI platform for in-house teams. ## **Required Experience** - 3+ years of experience building production-grade web applications. - Strong expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, and React. - Deep understanding of React and frontend architecture. - Experience with cloud platforms (GCP). - Track record of designing scalable backend systems. - History of making architectural decisions that stood the test of time. ## **Nice to Have** - Experience with modern ORMs (Drizzle/Prisma) and API design. - Knowledge of DevOps practices. - Background in building secure, compliant systems. - Familiarity with AI/LLM integrations. - Experience mentoring other engineers. - Understanding of legal tech or B2B SaaS. ## **The Mindset** - Problem Solver: You come alive tackling complex challenges without obvious solutions. - Ownership-Driven: You take initiative without needing direction and focus on outcomes. - Continuous Learner: Your curiosity drives you to constantly level up your engineering skills. - Startup DNA: You thrive in fast-paced environments where responsibilities evolve. ## **A Note On Pace** We’re building something new in a once-in-a-generation shift in technology and the legal industry, so we move at a relentless pace. We expect urgency, ownership, and good judgment even when things aren’t perfectly clear. If you need structure and consensus to do your best work, this isn’t the right place for you. If you thrive in ambiguity and growth, work with intensity, and want real responsibility, keep reading. We’re excited to meet you. ## **How We Work Together** GC AI is a distributed company with team members across North America, and soon Europe. We believe that because our business is AI, human connection matters more, not less. We invest in bringing people together through our hub model: regular coworking sessions, customer dinners, team and company offsites. If you’re in a location without an office, expect up to 10% travel (and more for customer-facing roles). *Team members in the San Francisco Bay Area and Provo, UT (within 50 miles of the office) work together on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As we grow, we plan to establish permanent offices in* [*more hub cities*](https://gc-ai.notion.site/faq-careers-at-gc-ai)*, and we will look to our team members to help build that in-person culture.
