Job SummaryThe MEP Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities for building construction projects. The role ensures that all MEP works are executed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, budget, and schedule while complying with local authority regulations and international standards. The MEP Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams to achieve successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and ELV systems throughout the project lifecycle.Plan, organize, monitor, and control MEP activities to ensure timely project completion.Coordinate MEP works with civil, structural, architectural, and finishing disciplines.Review and approve MEP shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation.Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, local authority regulations, and international standards.Lead MEP coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.Monitor construction progress and resolve technical and coordination issues.Oversee procurement planning for MEP materials and equipment.Manage MEP subcontractors, monitor performance, and ensure contractual compliance.Review project schedules and identify risks affecting MEP installation and commissioning.Ensure all MEP works comply with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements across all MEP activities.Manage testing, commissioning, inspections, and handover processes.Coordinate with authorities for inspections, approvals, and final certifications.Monitor project costs, variations, and value engineering opportunities.Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to senior management.Support project close-out activities, including as-built documentation, operation manuals, warranties, and training.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.Professional Engineering registration or equivalent certification is an advantage.PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.ExperienceMinimum 15 years of experience in MEP construction for building projects.Minimum 5 years of experience in an MEP Manager or equivalent managerial position.Proven experience delivering large-scale building projects such as high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, mixed-use developments, or institutional facilities.Mandatory GCC experience with strong knowledge of regional construction practices, authority requirements, and international standards.Experience in testing, commissioning, and project handover.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, ELV, BMS, and utility systems.Thorough understanding of international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, BS, SMACNA, etc.).Familiarity with GCC authority requirements and approval processes.Ability to review engineering designs, shop drawings, and technical submittals.Strong planning, scheduling, and resource management capabilities.Experience with cost control, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, and other project management software.Working knowledge of BIM (Revit/Navisworks) is an advantage.Leadership CompetenciesStrong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
