Model-Based Development- Matlab/ Simulink

Job description

Do you use mathematics as a way to understand reality? Do you believe that a good solution starts with understanding the problem? We are engineers who like to go deep. People who see mathematics as a tool for understanding reality, programming as a way to test ideas, and physics as something that needs to make sense together with the model. If you enjoy working at the intersection of mathematics, physics, and programming, we would like to get in touch with you! We are looking for someone who: Enjoys moving between mathematics, physics, and code Wants to understand the connections between models, algorithms, and physical systems Enjoys solving difficult problems and understanding why a solution works Is curious about new methods, technologies, and tools Enjoys working with knowledgeable colleagues who like to test new ideas Likes both sharing knowledge and learning from others Which skills do you need to join the team? We are looking for a skilled and motivated System & Software Engineer to join our team. This is a mid- to senior-level role. We are looking for a hybrid profile who can work in the intersection between system, function and implementation. The work spans several levels: System level – system design, architecture, requirements decomposition Functional level – development and validation of functions Technical / software level – implementation and integration Qualifications Experience working as a Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, or in a similar hybrid role Strong knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and model-based development Experience with embedded software development Experience with requirements engineering Desirable Skills Strong experience in requirements management, as the project requires people who understand the full development chain Understanding of PLC programming What will you work on? You will work on technical problems where mathematics, programming, and physics meet. This could involve modelling, simulation, control systems, optimisation and code generation. In some projects, you may work all the way from understanding and formulating the problem, through mathematical modelling and algorithm development, to implementation and validation. In others, you may go deeper into a specific part of the chain. We work both on our own in-house projects and on technical challenges together with our customers. As a consultant, you may work closely with customers in areas such as automotive, civil engineering, defence, and medtech. In our in-house projects, you get the opportunity to develop and explore solutions to technical problems together with colleagues who are genuinely interested in the same things. What is it like to work at Combine? Here, you will work alongside engineers within mathematics, physics, control engineering, programming, AI, and systems development. We work both at customer sites and on our own in-house projects, giving you the opportunity to move between different technical environments and problems. We like difficult technical problems, deep discussions, and testing whether our ideas actually hold up. We learn from each other, challenge each other's assumptions, and are happy to nerd out until we truly understand the problem. Your cover letter matters to us We don't want a list of standard qualities such as being driven, social, or solution-oriented. Instead, tell us: What do you find genuinely technically interesting? What types of problems do you find particularly stimulating to solve? How do you approach a problem you don't know how to solve at first? How do you keep up with new methods and technologies? We would rather read a personal letter that shows us how you think than a perfectly polished one. Does this sound like you? Do you enjoy understanding how things work, rather than simply making them work? Then we would like to hear from you. We are looking forward to your application!
