Many pediatricians complete their pediatric residency program with as little as two months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience. With limited NICU experience during their pediatric residency, many graduates are not prepared to independently practice in a Level II Special Care Nursery upon graduation and often require further training. We recognized this training gap and in response created our 9-18 month Level II Special Care Nursery Fellowship Program. The goal of the program is to ensure that all fellows graduate with the education, skills, and experience needed to independently practice in a Level II Special Care Nursery.
